Welcome to Loopy Central! Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, our yarn shop is located off Harmony
Road in the Front Range Shopping Center with beautiful mountain views. We have 4,500 square feet of
yarn, roving, lace, patterns, and fun accessories to browse at your leisure. Loopy Central is the
combination of shopping in-store and the online orders we ship to knitters, crocheters, spinners,
and weavers around the world.
Be sure to check the webcam for a
glimpse into our day-to-day life, and take a tour below.
We have four long aisles here at Loopy in Colorado. Each one is packed with beautiful choices! This is one of the Fingering Weight Aisles and frequently holds Madelinetosh Sock, Mountain Colors, Swan's Island, Spud and Chloe, and several of our wonderful independent dyer lines.
You'll find some of the workhorse yarns back here - Trekking, Austermann, Berroco, and more. We also have roving from Lorna's Laces, Alpaca with a Twist, and several independent dyer lines in this corner as well.
Our shop space here in Fort Collins includes lots of windows and natural light with long aisles packed with beautiful yarn and accessories! It's a bright, happy, inspiring space.
Since not all of you can visit and shop in person, we have an area set up just for packing and shipping your orders. We love walking through the Loopy aisles as your personal shopper.
Our red couches are comfy and we like sharing them with you when you come to sit and knit. (They're also a good place to stash a non-knitting family member while you shop. Tell them to bring a good book and get comfortable.)
We have a lot of fun at Knit Night on Thursday nights. On this particular evening, Cricket (one of our regular Knit-Nighters) was showing us how to steek. We were all a bit scared of it, but she assured us it was no big deal and then took the scissors to her sweater and showed us!
Our Worsted Weight aisle holds many treasures and a whole lot of color. We carry all 250+ colors of Cascade 220, and all 140+ colors of 220 Superwash, plus Stonehedge Fiber Mill's Shepherd's Wool, Blue Sky, Spud and Chloe, Madelinetosh, Lorna's Laces, Dream in Color and more. Lots of Worsted Weight to choose from.
Another long aisle of Fingering Weight yarn for you to peruse! This aisle contains Lorna's Laces, Sweet Georgia, Biscotte & Cie, Dream in Color, Juliespins, Malabrigo, Three Irish Girls, and more of our independent dyer lines.
The post office in Fort Collins wanted us to keep this big (ugly, cumbersome monstrosity) bin in our shop, so we can fill it with all of your shipping boxes each day. They say it makes it easier to move all the mail down the elevator and into the mail truck. We just think it's a big 6 foot tall ugly mess. Well, we did think that. Then we decided to name it Herman. After posting a Herman Munster photo on the side of it, we started becoming fond of the big thing.
Loopy (alongside his faithful friend Socks) gets into the summer camping spirit, just in time for Camp Loopy 2012. Hat (check), sunglasses (check), backpack (check), and binoculars (check). It's going to be a great summer!
There is a reason for keeping M&M's around the shop. It happens to be Little Loopy's favorite lunch. Don't worry - it's a balanced lunch. He always eats both - Regular M&M's AND Peanut M&M's.
Ava models the Flower Scarf (free pattern on Sheri's blog) and anything else we need her to model. She can be found in photos modeling hats and cowls and scarves, but the Flower Scarf seems to be her default favorite.
We have all kinds of needles for all kinds of projects. We carry Addi, ChiaoGoo, Hiyahiya, Knitter's Pride, Kollage, and more.
This summer, we moved things around a bit. The red couches are now in a new corner, with more light. We hope you can come in and sit and knit with us, soon!
Our very first Knit Night here in Colorado! We had a great group. Now we have between 15 and 30 people here each Thursday night, from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Come join us so we can knit together!
Colorado Elves Jody and Roberta are busy working on some of your orders. You can see one side of the packing station from the Webcam, but we keep the other side out of camera range, just for the days when we're working on something we're not ready to show you yet!
There are always lots of samples around the shop, to give you ideas and inspiration. We have shawls, socks, sweaters, cowls and scarves to tempt you. (Here's a Color Affection Shawl done up in Shalimar's Breathless.)
We have fun sharing a little slice of Loopy with you on the Webcam each day. But there is so much more going on down each aisle. Sometimes there are people around each corner, planning projects and picking the perfect yarn. It's fun to see what everyone is making!
Our St. Louis Loopy Elves - always a part of The Loopy Ewe, no matter where we are!
Elf Sue used her amazing stained glass talents to do a Loopy for us to feature in Loopy Central. Doesn't he look handsome in glass?
Of course, we still fondly remember the great times and wonderful elves we had in St. Louis before we moved.
