What a great vest to wear over a shirt! Using strands taken from self-patterning yarn, the squares of color on the back echo the stripes on the front to great effect. Because it's sleeveless, it's really built for action!
Instructions for: 0-6 mo, 6-12 mo, 1-2 yrs, 2-3 yrs.
Yarn needed:
1 (1,2,2) balls (50g) self patterning sock yarn (MC)
1 (1,1,2) balls (50g) solid 4-ply yarn (CC)
(50g or a 1 3/4 oz skein = 210m or 229 yds)
plus
18 yds (17m) of solid 4-ply yarn (CC2) for front band
14 yds (13m) of solid 4-ply yarn (CC3) for arm bands
4 (5,5,5) 3/8" (1 cm) buttons
Needles: 1 pair 2.5 mm (US 1 1/2) & 1 pair 3 mm (US 2 1/2)
2.5 mm circular needle, 32"
Gauge: 30 sts. and 42 rose to 4" (10 cm) over stocking stitch using larger needles.
