The fluid design of the Lead or Follow Lace Scarf is a wonderful study in the behavior of lace knitting when yarn overs are placed in various positions relative to the compensating decrease.

Allow 500 yards of lace or fingering weight yarn for 12" x 68" scarf, or desired length and width with yardage adjustment. 5 ½ stitches/inch, size US 5 / 3.75 mm needles suggested. Shown in hand-spun silk. Charted and written instructions.
