This pattern is such a "Hoot!"
Knit and felt a whimsical owl for the bird enthusiast. The pattern includes instructions for two owl designs: the Round-Dead and the Tufted-Ear. Add a strand of fine mohair or alpaca, along with a worsted weight yarn, in a contrasting color to create a fuzzy, variegated owl.

You can even personalize the owl even more by felting a design, initial or year on the owl's tummy.

The pattern uses worsted weight yarn and introduces simple needle felting techniques. When choosing yarn, do not use machine-washable yarns, as they do not felt.

Yarn: Worsted Weight felting yarn (like Cascade 220) in cream, brown, grey or any owl-like color (or create an owl in the recipient's favorite colors).
For the eyes, the Round-Dead owl uses two 5/8" button or 12mm plastic animal eyes; the Tufted-Ear owl uses two 3/4: buttons .
