I made some mods to this pattern and doubled up on the rows between points. This gave it more depth and was larger. So, for every sixteen rows (instead of 8), I bound off ten stitches (instead of 5). This resulted in more of a shawl than a scarf or sash. I loved the yarn and it blocked out on the bigger size.
By completion, I had only scraps of the second ball left. So I used close to 750 yards to complete this Hitchiker. I did not get to 42 points, but was able to get to 30 points.
