As the title says, these are the first socks I've ever knit! I began trying to make Brainless, but after 2 weeks and 3 foiled attempts, a friend convinced me to knit a basic pair w/cables up the sides, and voila, it worked! I learned SO MANY new techniques: Judi's Magic Cast-On, short rows/wrap & turn (& picking them up again), heel flap, gusset, Jeni's Surprisingly Stretchy Cast-Off, to name a few. + knitting on 2 itty bitty circs -- I felt like they were Barbie knitting needles! BUT I DID IT! :)

Thank you to the Loopy Ewe and Summer Camp for really stretching me out of my knitting comfort zone, for challenging me to learn new skills, and my #1 goal of the summer, to get back into the groove of knitting a bit each day (as someone on one of the threads said, "I got my mojo back!").
