I made this using some yarn from my stash. It was my first try at fair isle. I had to rip out the first 10 rows or so the first time, partly because my floats were way too tight, and partly because I had decided to wrap the ones that were a bit long. It has one of those hemmed brims, where you knit stockinette for several rows, then do a purl row for the turning, then stockinette for several more, then pick up the cast on edge with the next row. It does make the brim look very neat. I ended up winning a first place ribbon in the hat class at my state fair for this hat.
