Hi Mrs. B, Danny gave me this site (to brag about his good work--but I kept it, in case I ever find the time/patience to knit) and I couldn't help but leave a note on here. You sent me a very encouraging note and gift last year as I was entering college. I'm looking at that note now, which came home and back with me this year; it's tacked up on my bulletin board. So I suppose this is me returning the favor: I don't have any idea what it feels like from your end, but know that all's going well here; we're having a great time, but missing home of course. I'll be praying for you and your family. Thanks for keeping up w/ the blog; it's always fun to read! love, Sarah J

I feel your pain. I lost TWO of my kids to college this week. One to pharmacy school in another state and one to marriage a couple of weeks before this first week of starting college. My house is so empty without them. And yet, life goes on. At least now I can knit them something for Christmas without them actually seeing it BEFORE I give it to them. I have from now until about mid-December...at least before my son comes back home for Christmas break. I guess knitting is good therapy for weepy-eyed moms too.

Aw, me, too, only it was last week, and she's a freshman at MSU (you know, used to be SMSU until last year? Poor husband claims he doesn't have an alma mater anymore.) I thought I was going to have to go to church alone the next morning (husband's brother was here, and somehow the 2 together are pagans), and didn't think I could do it without a meltdown. So my son came with me, and I was OK until one of the older ladies asked me when we'd taken our daughter to school, and I said "yesterday", and she looked at me and said, "makes you want to cry, doesn't it?" and I almost lost it right there!
