Oh, I wish I'd thought of doing a Loopy Field trip last time I was in St. Louis! I think you may have been out of town then, anyway. I'll have to remember to contact you before our next trip, whenever that might be. I need to knit some socks from the yarn I've gotten from you, but I'm working on Christmas stuff right now, and none of it is socks!
Someday, I'll have some Loopy socks in trees pics for you.

I received an email from Connie in Newmarket this morning asking for pix's of the "knitting room" - (it's a small world) - she is going to publish one on her blog (I'm blushing) - thank you Sheri.

Holiday shopping is done! Including hubby's shopping for me, compliments of the Loopy Room. Emily and I had so much fun today. She continues to talk about Zoe and will for a long time I'm sure. She's already asking when we can return to visit her.

I agree - we should have a Loopy Field trip one day - Sheri can pick the date.
Will take pix of socks when it stops raining - or should I wait until the Friday snow? I have most of the Christmas shopping finished, mostly in-laws to do and finish off youngest son on Friday when I can use my Banana Republic coupon at the mall. I did manage to grab a TMX Elmo at Target the morning, last one on the shelf, it wasn't there on my first go round, but 5 minutes later there it was - only one. I heard someone ask for one and the clerk disappered and returned with one, she must have brought two and left one on the shelf. Will be speeding to Salmon, Idaho and youngest grand daugher for Christmas - along with all the other things we bought for her - and some knitted socks.

Jari - if you can knit a man's tie, you can knit a heel. I tried a tie once and gave it - I could never get it to look like a tie.

Hi!!
If I hang it on a very tiny tree, would you like a photo of my beautiful cuff???? :-) (I WILL COMPLETE A HEEL this year...I WILL COMPLETE A HEEL...)
I actually finished the tie I was knitting for my husband for Christmas---I had begun to think it would never end!! I like the way it turned out--hope he does too!
The Sock Gallery is wonderful---super socks AND great motivation! Thanks!!!

I LIKE that Socks in Trees schtick. Good thing I planted some last year. hehe.

Some of my gifts are knitted so they are in various stages of completion. I am giving my parents 'experience' gifts mostly cause like many folks they don't need anything. Tickets to the Phoenix Symphony, movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates... stuff like that. Plus socks of course. Mom now has one and Dad now has half of one.

Started Dad's last night using the Russi Arygle (blue-gray color) that I got from Sheri. It is really nice and springy and warm and a lovely 'colorful' manly color that my dad would actually wear. I am using 2 circulars and I was pleasantly surprised to find it really did go much faster than DPNS... at least for me. Or maybe it just FELT like it since there is less fussiness. Once you get a method down to go from one circ to the other it is smooth as butter. (Bought slick Addi Turbos just for this purpose and they work great.)

I prefer toe-ups (bad at gauging how much to use with top-down) so I started with the usual provisional cast on using DPNs and swtiched to circs after the toe turn. I'm kind of hybridizing anything that will make it go faster at this point. HA!

Maybe we should have a Loopy sock reunion? Then we can all have a loopy field trip!
As far as shopping goes..it seems I am doing a lot of yarn shopping in the name of Christmas. Besides that, I have my shopping done for my three year old and no ideas for my husband. Yes, I could knit socks for him, and I have thought about it..but the colors he picks are so much more boring than the fun ones I pick that I think I would be asleep before I got to the heel flap.

Oh, I'd definitely take photos of any of you peering out from behind your socks. But only if you are in the bushes or in the trees. That's what Loopy customers do.... :-)

And Janice - I wish you were doing a Loopy Field Trip today, too!
