I have enough sock yarn for 40 pairs. Not only that, but now I've ventured into lace knitting and have started buying lace yarn! Really, what I should do is combine my two obsessions and knit lots and lots and lots of lace socks. I wish I could knit faster.

I could knit a pair a week and still have yarn left over. Having OCD has now spilled over into sock yarn - the newestest, sexiest, most colourful - I have to have that hand-dyed yarn in my collection (which it now is - like diamonds, teapots or dolls). I am keeping quite a few online LYS's in business these days.

I can't wait for the day that Sheri starts a "Sock of the Month" club and I can add yarn that I might not buy on my own volition.

Sheri, I am sure you have already seen it, but the Loopy Ewe has a mention and a link in the Yarn Harlot's blog today--that should be pretty good for business and she mentions the Claudia colorway I just bought.

In the stash, on order, or on the needles? That is really the question.. Last time, I counted the stash, I think there was somewhere around 50 pairs of socks in there. But I have added to the stash since. But I have also donated some as prizes since than. On the needles, there are currently 5 pairs of socks but I am about to start another pair. And on order, there are the 3 that I just ordered from you. So I would say that I probably have somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 or more pairs either waiting to be knit.

And of course, I am wearing a pair of hand knit socks right now.

I like to go on the principle that "ignorance is bliss" when it comes to my sock yarn stash. That way I can buy more when I see some I simply must have!!!! I will tell you I have a LOT. I've tried yarn diets but they just don't work!!!!

I thought I had alot of sock yarn until reading all these comments. I can't compete and I'm glad it is not a competition. But, I do have enough yarn to make about 15 pairs of socks that would be adult and children mixed. I have 7 works in progress so I think I'm doing ok keeping the addiction in check!! I also enjoy coming and reading the blogs here. On that note, I made the cranberry pie from a previous blog. The ladies at work all thought it was a keeper and hubby and I did too. Thanks again Diane and Sheri for sharing a good recipe. Your blue socks are beautiful, Sheri. I like the striping going on there. Happy knitting to you all.
