A sock a day. HAH! The woman is inhuman. She has to be! For goodness' sake, it takes me THREE WEEKS to knit a woman's pair of socks. A man's? More like five weeks. Granted, I'm a very slow knitter. I've had a torn ligament in both thumbs, which had to be fixed surgically. Ever since, I have not had much dexterity or flexibility in my thumbs. I think this might be the reason I knit so slowly. Or at least it's my excuse. =) I always knit two socks on two circulars, so as to avoid the dreaded Second Sock Syndrome, as well as the dreaded One Sock Longer Than The Other Syndrome. It works for me. :)

I usually don't have a problem with second sock syndrome. Once I get the first done, I have to have the next so I/my loved one can wear them. I'm a project knitter, for sure.

If people still knitted a sock a day like in the olden days, but had the affluence of people in America today I wouldn't have had any yarn to visit--you'd never keep it in stock!

It was nice to meet you! I'll have to come again after my wallet is recovered from Christmas. And maybe I'll time it after a nice big shipment of new yarn. =D

I don't have a problem with the "other" sock. I look at a pair of socks like knitting the sleeves to a sweater. You need both to finish the project. Plus I am a fairly single-minded knitter. One thing, relentlessly, until it is finished. BUT I have a huge problem with sock yarn. I have hanks and hanks and balls and skeins of the stuff! Soft and beautiful and the colors! Oh my! Just thinking about it all is exciting! When is the new yarn going to be available at the Loopy Ewe?!

You crack me up! ".....Because I’d like to hear about it and then be jealous."
I tend to organize things the way you described. I start on a project and I find myself going down all the little 'rabbit trails' that spin off that project so that it takes me quite a long time to finish what I started. Your recipe looks delicious. I bought a take-n-bake garlic chicken pizza just last week - now I will try to make it on my own.

Sometimes a single sock makes all the statement it needs, don't you think? :-)

Well, you could use your twinless sock as decoration on your mantel of your fireplace... That would look very nice. (Kind of along the Christmas stocking theme...)
I think I will need several Peppermint Mochas to get myself through this weekend. (as well as large amounts of M&M's perhaps...)
