When it comes to knitting for myself, I'm a Frank sock girl. I have socks in Opal Tiger, Opal Bumblebee, lots of other self-striping yarns, Lorna's Laces, and various boutique hand-dyes. Color, color, color! Love it.

Dad has a pair of socks in camouflage colors (to match a sweater I made him) and a pair with intarsia-knit cowboy hats and six shooters. Those were fun to knit (for certain values of fun involving reknitting the ankle section twice and the toes twice courtesy of Mom's poor measuring). Dad's socks are Semi-Frank.

Mom seems to prefer Martha socks. She's got a pair of Regia Jacquard in bright earth tones, but all the rest are blue or not-bright earth tones. She actually asked me for two pairs of blue rib-knit-cuff-plain-foot socks. Oy. I gave her one pair already, and the third of the four socks is on the needles, but they are/were SO BORING. No color changes, no cables, no lace, nothing interesting. I blame her for my recent excessive buying of bright-colored hand-dyed sock yarns for myself! Palate cleansers. Not an addiction. :-)

And after working on that navy-blue rib-knit sock on the DC Metro the other night, I'm ready to buy *more* pretty yarn.

I had a great mail day. Mail from the Loopy Ewe. The Bee Bar is amazing. I will be ordering more of those as gifts. My first Martha sock is coming along nicely and I am done with the heel.
Hope you are feeling better quick!

i love your frank sock. so beautiful and bright. your feet will be so happy to show off those socks. i don't collect sheep but yours are adorable. i'm a panda person myself. also, went to the merino/tencel and loved the viola. loved the solid at cherry tree hill in amethyst. do you see a pattern here? i love anything to do with purple. oh, i know there was something in the zen string too but have forgotten the name already. you must feel like it is yarn heaven having all that beautiful yarn at your finger tips. while i'm taking this break from the baby blanket knitting, think i'll go visit janice and drool some more over her felting. ttfn.

Love Loopy and the new sheepies. I don't collect them but I do have one sheep someone gave me which I will try and photograph for you. (He runs around alot so hard to get a shot.) Also love your Frank - woohoo! So let people comment on them and take it as a compliment. :>)

I have yet to see the Loopy and Black Bart stitch markers. I want some!! Next time maybe.

As for TV and knitting... I don't have TiVo so I have learned the best thing to knit with is a favorite old movie ... you know the pictures so hearing the words is enough.

Loopy is so adorable! And, as soon as you get a restock on the stitch markers, I definitely plan to order some... And, your Frank looks great. I'm hoping to start mine this weekend. : )

Funny you should mention merino tencel and not-a-sock knits. My Merino Tencel All Things Heather is being knit into a Balloon Scarf from Scarf Style. Went down a needle size.

"Mutton Chops?" That's like naming a chicken Buffalo Wings or something...haha.

Oh, the lovely, lovely new yarns. The solid colors are great, I may just have to do some socks with contrast heels and toes...or the Railway socks from Knitting Vintage Socks...or...etc. I hope there's still some left when I get there. =)
