Sock Yarns Galore

Oh, I wish you could be here with me and all of this yarn! It is just fun, fun, fun. Today, we have added some great new lines, and re-stocked some of the regulars. If you miss out on any of the colors, don’t fret. I will continue to keep them in stock, so we will have them back in asap. :-)

New lines added today:

J-Knits – Julie at J-Knits in Massachusetts has done a great job of coming up with some beautiful and unique color combinations. She says that they get a lot of inspiration from their diverse seasons in their region and you will see some wonderful combinations.

Scarlet Fleece – Kathy at Holly Spring Homespun in Virginia has created her own line of hand-dyed sock yarns, under the name Scarlet Fleece. The colors in the skeins are rich and muted and beautiful and each comes in a large skein with 480 yds, perfect for socks, scarves, or shawls.

Crystal Palace Cotton Panda – For those of you with wool allergies, you will love this yarn! (Also perfect for summer socks for everyone.) Made with 55% bamboo, 24% cotton, and 21% elastic nylon, it comes 170 yds. to the ball. Lots of colors to choose from (and as always, more on the way).

Apple Laine – Cindy at Apple Laine has been busy busy busy! After a well-loved knitter raved about this yarn, sales went sky high. We will eventually be carrying the entire color line of Apple Laine, as Cindy is able to get more dyed up and out to us. This is wonderful yarn – 50% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk, 20% Kid Mohair, and 10% Nylon with 190 yds. per skein.

Back in stock as of today:

All sizes of Crystal Palace DPN’s, all scents of SOAK, another great size tote with Loopy on the front, and new colorways (solids and variegated) of All Things Heather.

Now, hop on over to The Loopy Ewe and pick your favorites!

  1. Sheri – I stopped by and pick up Scarlett Fleece, J Knits and Apple Laine. I love the Apple Laine and have a sock on the needles as week speak. I am looking forward to trying Scarlett Fleece as I have heard great buzz on the blogs about it. I have to admit haven’t heard of J Knits but the colourways are intriguing. Order should be here by Wednesday – love my LYS.

  2. Oh goodness! So much beautiful new yarn! I’m all breathless and dizzy with it. And my last paycheck is gone, but I haven’t gotten my next paycheck, so I can’t buy a thing! And when I can, it’ll all be gone!!! ARRRGGGHHH!!!!

  3. I wanted that red delicious too! But there isn’t any left–it disappeared as I was putting it in my cart. :( I sure hope you’re getting more in soon!

(I think I need to do some finger exercises to increase my mouse-clicking speed. :) )

  4. I ended up being tempted into a hank of the Scarlet Fleece. Now I can’t wait for it to get here. That’s order #2 in less then one weeks time frame. I wouldn’t be shocked if I get something after the 14th. :) I do believe I’m going to be come a collector of sock yarns. :)

  5. Wouldn’t ya just know it? The day new stuff goes up I have internet trouble and missed probably a bunch of cool stuff. Nonetheless I bought a bunch of cool stuff too. :>) My Q1 Franks are nearly done so this is good enough reason to start something else now.

  6. Dang! I got up at 3.30am NZ time but you were just putting stuff up, when I woke up again at 7.30 the Red Delicious was gone *sob* *sniffle*. I will tide myself over with the ATH Maraschino and work on my sleep deprivation regime so i don’t miss out next time, lol!!

  7. I think it’s a sad commentary on the level of excitement I have in my life that I spent a lot of time this morning hitting refresh on your online shop. And that seeing the new items pop in was the highlight of my day! ;-)

  8. OhmygoshIshouldn’thavelookedthedaybeforeI’mcomingtotheLoopyRoom!!!!

Too many very cool yarns, and I just HAVE to have a set of the special Loopy sheep stitch markers. I’m bringing my 3 pairs of Springy (yes I want this cold weather to go away!) socks-in-progress tomorrow (Penllyn is coming out great in the Sweet Georgia Viola…) and the finished entrelac scarf.

OK, so just let me get my stuff and NOT look! (Iwillnotlook, Iwillnotlook, Iwillnotlook, Iwillnotlook,Iwill…………………………..)

  9. Well, I feel better that I wasn’t the only one hitting the refresh button this morning.
I sat at the computer thinking that I really need to get a life….or maybe I just need to get on with the life I have – you know, like working on knitting up the sock yarn that I already have that could last me until 2075…..

    (make that 2076 – I just ordered more) :-)

  10. Wow – that yarn goes fast! I’m glad I got in a small order…but missed out on the Apple Laine…next round!!

P.S. I, too, am glad I was not the only person hitting refresh.

  11. yay! I got some apple laine, and some SOAK in Aquae, which I’ve been looking for for a while now!

Thanks Sherry! (And does it matter that I came here from wendyknits.net? I know you give credit for these things sometimes!)

  12. Gosh it makes me feel so much better that atleast Wendy, Jen and Amy have the same disease that I do. The disease of hitting the refresh button over and over making sure I didn’t miss out on your updates.

You had quite a job putting all that info on the site and thanks to Mr Loopy for such great photos. You two did such an excellent job I had to….just had to….purchase all the gorgeous yarn that I did today. I can’t wait to see it in person.

Thanks Sheri for the great new yarns. You make knitting so much fun!

Oh, and one more thing….Go Colts…..Congratulations on the great job!

  13. Ooooooh Sheri – I’m so sad! I unexpectedly got called into work early this am; all day I kept thinking about how I just knew I was going to miss out on all your new, yummy stuff and alas that is just what happened :( I’m gonna have a look at the SF again – it is beautiful as I’ve knit with it before – Holly Spring does a great job.

To add insult to injury it was -47C here this morning … how crazy is that!! Colder here today that the Antarctic.

I’m so happy the Loopy Ewe is generating such a sock yarn frenzy – it’s wonderful to see your business grow and blossom like it has

    *Smiles*

  14. I couldn’t resist the Scarlet Fleece. I can’t wait to see some of that scrumptious Apple Laine! … Gosh, I bet you’re so busy, Sheri! GOOD busy! :) By the way, I love the DPN stitch holders that I ordered. What did I ever do without them!?

  15. Got some! I was completely engrossed in Nook Tidy Day and took a break when I remembered, LOOPY UPDATE! I about plotzed! What if it’s ALL GONE! But, I got some and I’m happy.

  16. Wow, I cant believe how quickly it sold out! That just goes to show how popular your store is! I thinks its because you spoil us with all the goodies in the orders.

    You’re the best Sheri! Thanks!

  17. I checked your store yesterday and wasn’t fast enough :) One minute Red Delicious was there and the next minute….gone! I hope to be fast enough with the next shipment. I also want to thank you very much for the wonderful Loopy Groupie gift bag and goodies. It is awesome and will be perfect to carry my sock projects in. My “Frank” socks are going in now. To echo Michele…You’re the best! Thanks again. Kristi
