I never even got out of my PJs on Monday! And the entire day was spent knitting, with the exception of a half hour snooze and a little bit of reading. I tried not to feel too guilty about my laziness, but the rest of the weekend had been spent volunteering all day on Saturday at the animal shelter and then family obligations on Sunday and I just decided that Monday was MY day...ALL MINE - I did nothing that I didn't want to do. It was heavenly!

I am still forcing myself to forget I ever heard about making the second sock at a later date. It is so tempting to start a few socks at once! But I know I'll never get the second sock done.

Hey - I missed you while I was in Italy....and many of those great yarns! But I think there are a few left for me to scoop up still. I love seeing all the new colors!

I missed the update, which breaks my perfect streak of being there when it happens. Of course, this was all in the name of Italian zombie movies - which I think it a really great cause. Holidays are one of the few days my roommate and I can hang out, because of our disparate work schedules. And foreign zombie flicks are simply something that must be done. (A review of the film can be found here: http://classic-horror.com/reviews/zombie.shtml - it's written by the afore mentioned lovely roommate. Some of mine are up there also, but most of my work on the site is behind the scenes).

I'm not sure how I ended up with the Chewy Spaghetti yarn. I clicked, hoping for some of the sport yarn, and there was the lace. And I remember going, "OOOH! Clicky!" and looking at the lovely yarn. And then reminding myself that I have enough lace yarn to last me about a year of solid lace-only knitting. So I decided against it.

And then, somehow, it was in my cart when I checked out. Is this normal? ;)

I had the weekend off - marched in our town's Memorial Day Parade - I'm a volunteer EMT - what fun! And the next day hubby and daughter and I went to Massachusetts for the Wool and Sheep Festival there. SO much fun. GREAT hand spun yarns, spinners, home made goat's milk soap. Irresistible!

Hi Sheri. Your sock is so pretty. I really like that pattern also. I'm sure Zoe and Casey are spoiled like most of us seem to do with our beloved pets. They are such good company for us and deserve to be spoiled.

I did do some knitting along with working this past weekend. Trying to finish up my Q2 challenge projects this week. I'm ready to be knitting socks or baby item gifts for later this year. I did see a couple of good movies on the TCM or AMC channels. And I did make your rhubarb dream bars that I had the recipe to and seemed to have lost. I thought it very interesting that you posted the recipe I was looking for. Thanks for helping me out there. That is just one of my most favorite rhubarb recipes.

Looking forward to seeing new sock yarn lines. It is amazing how many kinds of sock yarns there are and how many different hand dyed ones too. No wonder so many of us are addicted. ( :

Happy knitting to all.

Oooh, yay Nova Scotia Sea Silk! This weekend, though not actually a holiday, was my last weekend in Cairo. I seamed the second Mets Arrgyle for my brother and got started on the foot. I'm reeeeally hoping to get it done on the plane so I can fall face-first into the Schaefer Anne for my Sockapalooza pal when I get home, which will be Saturday (!!!). Speaking of which, totally flash the socks you're working on. Getting to see the process is half the fun!

Will the Yarntini be in the next update you think?

I was so busy at work that I didn't see the yarn update until late in the afternoon. I'm really wanting to try some beautiful Knittery yarn. Alas, I'm still on a yarn diet.

I didn't get much kniting done because.....I got a new kitten!! His pics and story are on my blog.

BTW, that Autumn Tremblings colorway is very very pretty.

The day, or actually even days, that I would like to relive all the holidays. My Dad used to drive me crazy wanting me to make sure I came down to his house for the holidays. I never understood then why it was so important to him... We visited, ate, visited some more, said our goodbyes, and made the long drive home. The same deal every holiday, and foolishly I almost dreaded these times. More likely than not, I always went, but holiday gatherings are different for the adults (as you all know) than for the kids - so many chores, things to catch up on at your own home, step-family drama, etc. It was almost an hour's drive each way, plus the time spent there, and I was generally exhausted by the time I arrived because of things I felt I had to do. My dad passed away in 10/2004, and it took two years plus for the mental fog to lift. Looking back, I should have realized what the holidays meant to my Dad and why. I must be a slow learner, but better late than never, and now I wish I could relive the holidays because you never know what you've got until it's gone...

It was going to be a great, productive weekend, but then my 2-year-old started throwing up....

I think it would be fine to show the socks on your blog as long as you don't post any identifying details about your pal. I'd love to see them!
