Unfortunately happy thoughts are a little tough right now. We had to put our 16 year old Shih Tzu to sleep very early Thursday morning. She was having frequent seizures and wasn’t eating or drinking. At the end she wasn’t even able to stand. She was a wonderful little dog for our family. The three people who loved her most in the world were with her until the end. The happy part is that we have many kind friends who have encouraged and comforted us.

Happy things:
#1 The new Loopy Room is now Loopified! Congratulations! I can’t wait to see pictures!

#2 I love all of my things in my latest Loopy package that arrived on Thursday. I don’t know how I managed to get it into the house without my husband or kids seeing it! They knew a package was coming because they knew about the lace scarf that I am going to try to knit for one of my son’s favorite teachers, but they did not know about all of the other stuff that was in it. Wish me luck that I can successfully knit the heart lace scarf and in time for Christmas!

#3 My College Guy was a stage hand for an off-Broadway performance of Peter Pan on his college campus, by the off-Broadway stage company. He had a ball “making (Peter Pan and the others ) fly”, as he was up on the rail, manning the ropes, wenches, pulleys, et al. That is a switch for him, as he usually runs the sound boards, but I think the company brought in their own sound guy. They travel with two jam-packed semi truckloads full of costumes and scenery, that all have to help unload, unpack, and then repack and reload, with much help from the local stage crew. That’s a lot of work for a one-night stand! But it is terrific experience. I wish we could have been there, but 450 miles one way is just too far, especially with one in high school at home. The college had The Alan Parsons Project band in for two performances two weeks ago! Not bad for a smaller school in a small town.

I spent the weekend in Watertown, NY knitting with my sister and cousin. I got my Rococo socks done, and started on socks for Maggie using the UrbanGpyZ Electric Lizard – I love that yarn! I also introduced my cousin to TLE and she placed her first order – I think I have her hooked!

ok, i just gained weight looking at those brownies!! Love Pbutter!

Am with you on the fires. We heard from our godfather the other day…finally. He has not been able to return home yet, but he knows both his neighbors have lost their houses and he knows for sure that at least half his avacado orchard is gone. The houses are so far apart there is no telling yet if his still stands.

Happy thoughts though! Knit on…i am so craving a brownie now.

happiness is (goodness, i remember singing that song in 2nd grade!)

going to the elvis costello/bob dylan concert with hubbie, him staying awake and happy (he can get growly if he’s overly tired and/or drinks budweiser (he stuck with corona!)), and laughing our asses off at the odd couple in front of us.

Lots to be happy about here…
1. My nephew and his family are safe and sound in So. California!
2. Having a nice quiet Saturday night at home…Hubby had to work tonight.
3. Got to do some knitting today!!
4. Loopy Central is ready to meet us all…can’t wait for the pictures!
5. Just heard about the 400 series of Dream in Color…can’t wait to see what gorgeous colors they come up with next!
6. Payday next week…hopefully just in time for the next sneak-up!
7. Fall has finally arrived in Southeast Texas!!
