It bugs me.
It’s probably a given that in a week that contained a Wollmeise-fest and Sock Club notices would be a rather tough week for all. An “It bugs me” post seemed appropriate today, given the mood of things around here, and we haven’t done one in awhile. (Gracie’s list of what bugs her? When people interrupt a nap to take her photo.)
So here are the things that are bugging me today:
1. Sock club limitations. I hate telling people no. (I have referred to that before - remember the Spring Fling?) I think we have figured out a way to take double our numbers for next years club, so I hope those of you who didn’t get in this year will come back. We really want to make spots for you.
2. My ipod. Well, not the ipod, specifically, but I am tired of the songs on there and want new ones. I know you all gave me bunches of great music suggestions awhile back, but it’s just a matter of downloading all of that new music. Which I haven’t done yet. So I keep listening to the same ‘ol, same ‘ol. FPS.
3. Website slowness during a particularly busy Sneak Up. But the good news is that we have found a great new (very large) server and will be upgrading to that sometime next week. You shouldn’t notice any slowness during Sneak Ups any more, no matter how many of you are shopping at once. (Ahem - at least that’s the plan.) No Sneak Up next week so that we can switch over and get things running. The next one will be sometime the week of the 28th.
4. Haircuts. And highlights. I haven’t had time to get my haircut or have highlights done lately. Consequently, today is a very bad hair day. I’m glad you can’t see me. I wish I looked just fine with long, straight, one-color hair. But I kinda think I look like a dog that way. (One of those afghan hounds, you know?)
5. Dust. Why is it so relentless about wanting to cover all of the surfaces in my house all the time? What’s up with that?
6. Sugar and vegetables. Why is it that vegetables are “good” for you and sugar is “bad” for you? Why can’t it work so that everyone must have 3 servings of dessert a day, and vegetables are only allowed on occasion? Someone messed that up.
7. Political ads and commercials. It has barely started and I’m already tired of listening to them and seeing them. And it’s only gonna get worse. I wonder if any of the candidates knit? (Somehow I think not. But it’d be good for a few of them…..)
8. 24 hour days. I’d really prefer 36 hour days. Just sayin’.
I have more, but I’ll stop there for today. So to end on a positive note, it’s time for Q4 voting! Please head over to the Q4 Photo Gallery and then email me (sheriATtheloopyeweDOTcom) your vote for favorite project from last quarter. We will award Loopy Gift Certificates to one person randomly selected and one person who wins the “blog readers favorite” award. I’ll announce the winner next Friday!
(And I’d love to hear what bugs you today - but I already know about the not enough Wollmeise and not enough Sock Club spots ……..)

What bugs me is that people have made you feel bad more than once this week. It bugs me big time. But you knew that already. Almost 1/4 of the way done with the order. By Sunday it will be 1/2!

It REALLy bugs me that i heard people were being mean and rude to you and felt entitled to the wonderful services and sneak ups you do for us. You do wonderful things for us and it bothers me that people don’t understand that you’re human and are completely entitled to sitting in front of a movie knitting and you don’t need to be becking to their every wish and call. Sheri RULES!

What bugs me:
1. Way cold here with minus (that’s below zero) 27 degrees and projected high of minus 2.
2. Trying to divide 5 cast on stitches onto DPNs for the start of a top down hat-impossible.
3. Watching my 80+ yr old parents change as they age-sad.
Can’t have “bugs” without “happys”
1. Looking forward to the Spring Fling and the Sock Club-how could I be so fortunate!!
2. Getting to check into see how you’re doing MWF on the blog. I don’t know how you managed this week with the Loopy tipping, sock club, crazy Loopy groupies (including me) with the non-stop posting on ravelry-very much fun-I couldn’t stop reading them.
3. Happy that my parents are still functioning on their own with just a bit of help from DH and self.
Try to get some rest and have a latte today. What a stressful week, esp. trying to get a new server, etc.
See if you can get College Guy to help you by setting up some new playlists on your iPod; not ’cause you couldn’t, you’re just to busy with all of us.

Today my computer is bugging me, it’s too slow.
I wish there was no such thing as laundry- self wasing clothes!
It bugs me to have to go in to work early on a Friday. It really bugs me that I have to go early to have my yearly employee evaluation. I feel like I’ve been bad and am headed for the principals office. It bugs me that all my coworkers will complain about you no matter how good your work is.
I think I need to go knit something or play in my sock yarn collection!

It bugs me that I had to call in sick today. Not that it’s so horrible to have a cold - hey, it happens, and at least it’s not the flu - but we have a three day weekend and calling in sick the Friday before a three day weekend just stinks. I feel guilty. (But when I’m not sleeping, I’m knitting. It keeps the guilty at bay.)

What bugs me today is when my kids ask me questions where they already know the answer. We saw a turtle at the zoo, right? It’s cold today, right?
Not enough hours in the day to homeschool the kids and do what I want to do. At least I can knit while they’re reading.
Vacuuming. We live in the woods and the kids are always out hiking. Stuff is constantly being tracked in and I just can’t keep up with it.
The price of gas. It costs too much just to get to town. I might as well order online.
On my mp3 player, I have the mp3 version of my favorite movies(ripped from my dvds). That way I can listen to the movie and knit.

It bugs me that I have to find a new car…..I had to “retire” mine….too much wrong with it. Now I have to search - hate car shopping. Bugs me that I don’t have enough time to knit; job gets in the way . Bugs me that I have to wait until March for the sock club to begin!!!!!! Thank you, thank you - you were a huge part of a very good day yesterday!

Actually, it’s been a fairly good week for me, so there’s not too much bugging me. I take this as a good thing.
What does but me:
Not having enough money to get anything from the sneak up last week. It’s going for the Spring Fling, so for now, I’ll just have to drool.
The newspaper guy who, in spite of my making 4 calls now, STILL doesn’t put my mom’s paper by the front door. She’s 79 with bad arthritis, and it’s been cold and snowy here in Chicago, so there’s ice on the walk. Every time I call to complain, it moves farther away from the front door, FPS. What’s up with that? The OTHER newspaper delivery person (we get two papers, and they’re two different people) doesn’t have any trouble with understanding that my front door is not the garage door or the neighbor’s yard. **Grumble**
(Gee, I guess that one REALLY bugs me….)
And you know, those 24 hour days bug me a bit, too, Sheri. I could use more hours. It would be more knitting time, as well as more time to get all the other stuff that needs doing finished.
But my positive note, I am teaching private crochet lessons for the next three weekends! WHOO-HOO! That’s more $$ to put towards the Spring Fling!

I’m bugged that you’re bugged. I’m going to say it….you need a SHERI DAY!!!
I’m not too bugged today. I have a 3-day weekend to knit socks and start my stole for the Secret of the Stole ii. I’m planning on watching movies and staying in my warm house. BRRRRR, it’s going to be cold outside. Must remember to put feed out for my feathered friends.

My boss bugs me. It’s been a very bad week on that front. I just try to keep in perspective that it’s HIM, not me and generally speaking, not the company. It just bugs me that it takes so darn long for the people above HIM to figure out that he can’t do his job. And despite what he might be hoping for, I’m NOT working over the 3 day weekend because, you know, I have knitting plans.
And it might be nice to cook some real food instead of living on Lean Cuisine and takeout. And possibly even do some proactive laundry and a modicum of house cleaning. Food and Knitting - more important by far!
I’m sidestepping most of the political ads by turning on the tv pretty much only for the news and then living on a diet of Netflix and audiobooks

What bugs me:
1. Knitters who already have skeins of Wollmeise in their stash but bought more during the last Sneak Up, resulting in me still having NONE, nada, zip, zero.
2. Bosses who provide a big fattening, unhealthy lunch when I am trying so hard to lose weight.
3. Global Warming — will I ever have a Snow Day (work closed) again so I can just sit and knit and admire how pretty it is outside??
4. The Network powers that be who won’t meet with or strike a deal with the Writer’s Guild. I can take only so many Reality shows and re-runs! I want my Journey Man back (merrrrow Kevin McKidd!!)
That’s it for today. I’m sure there is more, but I should be working. Shhh, don’t tell I’m reading blogs!

Weellll yes on the not enough wollmeise, but I got into the club, so that makes up for it! I can’t wait to see what you cook up for us.
I’ve got work today so that sucks, but I’ve got roving waiting for me at the post office and I get paid today, so there’s incentive to go to work to get my check.
Other than that…nothing bugging me today!

It bugs me that I have had a sinus infection for two weeks and feel horrible. I’m going on my 3rd antibiotic today. 1st didn’t work, 2nd made me sick, I hope this one will help. It really bugs me that no matter how much you do for some people they always complain. You should not have to put up with such stress. Most of us really appreciate all you do for us. Hugs

I agree with Melissa, I am “bugged” that people are making you feel sad about the sock club and Wollmeise. I realize that yarn is addictive to most of us (me included, I love a good sniff and petting now and then). But honestly, this past week has shown me that there’s more to life than yarn…..it could be the perspective that my friend who was only 45 years old died this week of cancer. You can’t take the yarn with you when you go, and I know that I have enough for a lifetime.
PS - I’m bugged because they won’t let me see my daughter today when I drop off her b-day treats at school, because some moronic parent dressed as a clown last time….FPS!
Amy said,
January 18, 2008 @ 1:03 pm
It bugs me that some people are bugging you via email, etc! I think you and the Loopy Elves are quite wonderful and I just don’t understand the need for people to be mean, FPS!
I agree with you on the sugar and veggies - why do I like sugar and hate veggies?
Otherwise? My immediate supervisor bugs me (I don’t know if I should say that in public, but I just did because he bugs me sooo much - but I know I’m not alone in that statement, so that’s a good thing!!).
But, the #1 thing bugging me right now is that I’ve been so tired lately that I hardly have any time for reading and/or knitting - my two most favorite things to do. Fortunately, Alfred Hitchcock Presents has saved me because apparently when I’m too tired to do anything else, watching these little shorts is a fun little diversion!
But, as someone else already mentioned, I should try to balance out with a positive. We do have a long weekend this weekend!!
Hang in there!! I’m sending virtual hugs your way! : )

I’m so glad I live in NH and don’t have to deal with the political ads and mail and phone calls anymore. In the days before our primary we probably got 10 phone calls a day, a few door-to-door visits a day, and about a dozen mailers a day. I joked I was going to vote for whoever called me the least! haha
And I must say that I AM THRILLED to have gotten into the sock club! Yay me!
The only thing bugging me is that my poor son (20 months) is sick again.

Now is “after.” For a long time, I told myself I’d do things “after.” After the craziness of early December; after Christmas; after New Year’s; after the end of church school (I teach); after our long-weekend away. Well, now is “after,” and the to-do list has reached gargantuan proportions. So, it bugs me that now is ‘after.’

What’s bugging me?
1. The extreme cold we’re going to get this weekend. It’s hard on people, machines, and our livestock. It also makes doing chores extra work.
2. My pile of laundry - altho I really shouldn’t complain because it’s the result of being on vacation for 10 days!
3. That there’s not more time for knitting!!
4. That the extra 15 pounds I’m carrying is obviously not going away unless drastic measures are taken!!

Bugging me, nothing big, thank goodness.
1. 4 snow days already and only one was really snowy. I’m worried these kids will be making up time when they really need a break.
2. Two-hour school delays. What can I get done in that time? Nothing.
3. Not enough time to knit
4. That people make you feel bad about things you can’t control.

I did a lot of “this bugs me” talk at work last night [about work] so I am going to skip that part of the post. I just want to send a virtual hug to you and all of the elves for all of the work and stress that you have to be dealing with this week. I don’t know if this helps, but I think that people get upset about things because you are so good at what you do that they forget you can’t work actual miracles. (no one skein of yarn multiplying to feed the shark frenzy…no water into wine…no calorie free chocolate…etc
)
I just took a peek at the Q4 challenge and there are some amazing projects. It will definitely be hard to pick just one to vote for.

All of the above, except problems at work, would just about sum it up. I’ve had a headache basically since 12/31/07 - now on meds and testing in the future. I too got a “not this year” message but totally understand and will re-budget that money accordingly.
Sheri, people really need to get a life and grow up - you don’t get everything in life. Be thankful for what you have and work hard to get something more. Thank you and thanks to the elves for all your hard work.
Take some time and knit or spin and be good to yourself.

I am bugged that:
1. Good phone manners are not used more often (don’t shoot the messenger)
2. I can’t knit during work (although I could, but would probably get fired)
3. My house value is dropping like a stone (I live in Ft. Lauderdale - $364,000.00 to $298,000 in the past six months)
4. I am not knitting right now or merely rolling around in my yarn stash (although I do carry a different sock yarn in my purse on a daily basis - just to feel it throughout the day, I know, a little crazy)
5. This morning I asked for my usual grande chai tea latte with hazelnut syrup, but ended up with someone elses drink (I had already left Starbucks and was halfway to work before I noticed - unexpected change can be good)

It looks like we share several of the same “bugs”. I totally agree about the dust, and also dust bunnies. Why is it that no matter how often I dust under the bed, behind the furniture etc, there are always more dust bunnies? Ok maybe the dog and the alpaca roving, not to mention the actual rabbit, do account for some of it, but it’s not fair!
The sugar/vegetalbe thing touched a sore spot with me because this week, of my own free will (I guess I must have been crazy at the time) I decided to to a five day cleansing diet which prohibits all sugar, dairy, grains and red meats. Thanks goodness I’m on the last day.
My postal service is bugging me today, because yesterday they supposedly tried to deliver my latest Loopy order but I “wasn’t home” they claim. Meanwhile I stayed in just because I had a feeling it would come. Now it’s down at the postal depot and I’m stuck at home with no car. It needs me to rescue it and I’m powerless to do so!
But enought of that. Thanks for all the hard work you’ve done this week (and every week) and try to get some time to relax this weekend (maybe get a haircut?) and do some knitting.

Well, I got Sock Club but no Wollmeise, so I can’t complain. What bugs me is that we finally get a decent snow and along comes a 45 degree day, but it’s supposed to be unseasonally cold for the next week. It bugs me that we’re sitting here at work watching TV; if it’s that slow, why not close up and go home?

Well. Maybe the car dealership where we bought my daughter’s new car. The games they played, so that in the end they give me what i wanted in the first place BUT after 4 hours of yapping at me about quality and value, and implying that the presence of a Coach bag at my side meant I would pay more than the value of the car just to get it for her. I pointed out that I got the bag on clearance and then went through everything I had on, item by item, price by price and said “Are you getting the point? I don’t pay retail for anything!” I won. I got the $6000 car for the $3000 I was willing to pay.

Sorry, you’re being bugged. I know, we are all too busy to be bugged and need more hours. For your ipod, download audiobooks. They are great and you have HOURS of listening. I love mine. Just remember most people will understand about the Woolmeise and sock club - I know I do.

The best way I’ve found to keep getting new content on my Zune (and for iPods too) are podcasts! You can find them & subscribe free through itunes, let itunes download new episodes for you and then load them to your player each time you sync it to your computer.
There are podcasts for everything - knitting, cooking, sci-fi, music, comedy, news, and tons of other subjects. Most are audio only, but there are some video ones too if your player can do videos.

3: Not knowing where my husband will be stationed (arg!)

My bugs today:
1. Kids had a two hour delay for school because of ice. It is now 40 degrees and sunshine. How did that happen?
2. Going on “vacation” next week, which is actually taking my daughter to NY for surgery. I don’t think vacation is quite the right word for it.
3. Trying to make the new website I build behave the way I want it too, not the way IT wants to! We seem to be at slight cross-purposes for lining words up nicely and processing at an appropriate speed. And I am losing.
I give my kids broccoli and ice cream. And they like both. Go figure!

1. It snowed and my walk home was soooo beautiful.
2. I left an hour early from work and had enough time to bake chocolate chip cookies when I got home.
3. The cookies were a new recipe which my husband got very excited about.
4. Then DH said all I had to make him for dinner was a big thing of Mac and Cheese.

let’s see what’s bugging me-
Reading about people telling you how to better run your business, it just seems rude to me.
Lingering killer cough from my recent cold.
My sons ear infection (that makes me more sad really).
Dishes. I’m bugged I still don’t have a dishwasher!

Sheri, we must be hav’in the same kinda day. I was just thinking about what bugged me this morning as I drove to work … I dare say not a very positive way to start the day … shame on me! My list was long but I have pared it down. I am bugged by the weather and appearantly (from the looks of your comments) I am not alone. It is minus 36C here today with a winchill making it -44C. I am bugged by the unkindness of gossip from 13 year old girls (I work at a school) and I am super-bugged by my stitch markers that keep slipping under the yarn overs on my shawl and messing up the pattern count! That being said I am blessed that these ‘bug me’ things are really not such a big deal.

Political phone calls that come in when I’m trying to knit or spin. Why are they exempt from the “do not call” list? Calling me multiple times ensures that I will not vote for your candidate.
People who insist that they can do the job, and when they finally get the ax, you find all sorts of things that were never done, income stashed in all corners of her office, but 16 million pens, paper clips, staplers, notes that mean absolutely nothing, etc.. The worst was the fruit rotting in the waste basket under the desk. I need a nap.

Hi Sheri,
Have you tried pandora.com yet? You can listen to your favorite kind of music FOR FREE!! So, could create your own station and listen all day long. You have to register and that’s that. It’s the best thing I’ve come across since my Ipod. Just enter the name of your favorite artist and they will play songs from that artist and others like it. You can add other artists to your “station” too. Just turn up the computer loud and listen!!
I’ll definitely be back next year to see if I can get in a sock club. Heck, I’d be excited to just get last year’s sock club now! I’m not fussy. It’s just fun to a Loopy Groupy.

It’s funny you mention your hair. Just today I went and got a haircut because I couldn’t stand it any longer–it has been since the beginning of September. I thought I wanted to grow my hair longer, but decided it just wasn’t looking very attractive. The good news is I went to one of those cheaper walk-in salons and got a stylist that worked for a year and a half for one of the most expensive salons. For anyone out there afraid to try a walk-in salon, the trick is to ask for the manager to cut your hair.

Gracie loods so regal there. I like Afghan hounds! And I have known who I was going to vote for this year since the day after we voted last time, so I think I should get special radio programming with no politics. In fact, I would have voted for him last time except he was stuck being the VP candidate. FPS.
Today’s bugs? I can’t be at home to knit up the lovely Fino I received last night. And I “had” to place another order today because I cannot calculate yardage requirements. I soothed the pain with some comfort yarn. FPS.

Do not be bugged that your internet store has been unbelievably successful and that everyone want to buy your yarn, come to meet and knit with you and be part of your sock club.
You also are so customer oriented and a wonderful person to try to figure out how to please everyone. We need more people like you in this world.
I think I will send you a starbucks card so you can have a latte on me.
Have a great weekend, have fun knitting and thanks for being so thoughtful of your customers.

What bugs me:
* My gray is showing in my black hair and I need a hair cut; I can’t see through my bangs.
* My Christmas decorations are still up!
* Tomorrow, my baby boy will be 15 years old
* Someone took my XXL Trekking Hand Painted out of my cart today! (blue one!)
* That you’re bugged by people who complained that they didn’t get in the club or Wollmeise.
I’m not bugged that I didn’t get any Wollemeise or get into the Sock Club - because there’s always the next Sneakup and Sock Club. PLUS, I just placed an order so I can expect a package from you next week!!! Have a nice weekend!

I’m bugged by the grey skies and liquid sunshine that is constantly present from October through May in the Pacific Northwest. Yes it makes things very green, but it also makes me want to sleep 24/7!
I’m bugged by my work schedule. I still have 2 more days until the weekend and most knit shops are closed on Mondays!
I’m delighted to have gotten into the sock club. I’m delighted you have come up with some solutions for those who did not make it.
I love the new roving, Rio de la Platos and Smooshy sock yarn that came today from my Monday order. I also love that you are not closed on Mondays!

The only thing that is bugging me currently is that fact that half of me believes something that the other half doesn’t want to believe. I think that some things that are supposed to be random, are actually fixed. Sometimes seeing the results of some random things, you have to wonder why every single person who kisses up is always randomly selected for the one thing you want most.
Unfortunately, my husband has taught me to notice things like this. It really makes life suck. I preferred being naive.

I’m bugged that I’m on a wonderful month-long cleanse diet that’s doing good things for my body and I want to do it but I can’t have cheese….or chocolate!
I’m bugged that I’m not enjoying knitting right now.
I’m happy that my wood floors are finally finished being RE- finished and they look wonderful and I don’t have to stay in the basement any more.
I’m happy that you’re trying to do your best and take care of the wants of your customers. There are too many businesses these days, yes, yarn shops among them, that would justassoon pick their toe lint as wait on a customer.

i can so relate to your post today! first off - my kids say i don’t deserve an ipod because i don’t know how to download songs - my son did it for me on a suffle i bought on ‘impulse’, so i’m pretty much stuck with what i’ve got ’til he comes home for summer. i do so agree about needing an extra 12 hours a day - maybe then i can read and knit and read and knit and read and knit…..sugar may not be all that good for you but chocolate is good. on a happy note, i look pretty good with the new haircut i got last weekend
oh, and i will be back for another try at sock club next year, and i love your sneak-ups, even if i miss out once in a while, you keep bringing in so much stuff, there’s always something new to try! hope you have a nice weekend - i know i will cause it’s a looooooong weekend….

What bugs me today:
1. Recently my son apparently decided that he doesn’t like seeing plugs plugged into outlets. He’s been unplugging the living room lamp, which is tolerable (by the time it’s really dark, he’s in bed), but today he decided he didn’t like the plug that controls the TV, VCR, and DVD. And then he got extremely upset that he couldn’t watch his movie. I think the cause-and-effect has sunk in on this one, but it’s still annoying. (Autism means never knowing what to expect next! :))
2. This bag that I’m knitting from two colors of Mango Moon Bali Sky. Love the way it looks; tolerate the feel of the yarn; hate the fact that the two different colors are knitting up at different gauges.
3. I have to start clearing out and condensing the stuff in my crafts room.

What bugs me:
1. local government that thinks another housing development is better than the farm that was sacrificed for it.
2. stepping outside my door - and instead of fresh air - all one can smell is more car exhaust
(you sure can’t notice around here that gas is at an all time high!)
3. nearly getting hit just trying to cross my road to get my mail
Definitely do some spinning - I’ve noticed on several forums I read that the spinners are much more relaxed than the knitters…..must be the whirr of the flyer turning….

I know it is hard to be a person who wants to be known for and is known for great customer service and then has to deal with the complaints. Hang in there and more power to you for being in retail!
What bugs me:
1) My sinuses won’t drain and I keep getting sinus infections over and over.
2) Agree with you on the dust, hair, and veggies. I’d probably agree on the political ads if I actually saw any of them. I TiVo everything and watch without commercials and listen to the iPod in the car.
3) Too much stuff. Need to convince the family to stop being packrats and make some space!
4) Having to fire people for not doing their job. Yeah, it’s been a heck of a week.
Hang in there!

As someone who passed on the Spring Fling so I could afford to try for the sock club then didn’t get into the sock club, I must say…
It’s okay. I will live. It’s not like I don’t have a wishlist packed full to bursting of stuff I want. I could start a do-it-myself sock club and just order a couple skeins every other month!
I, like some other commenters, am bugged that people are giving you a hard time. Don’t let the schmucks get you down — you have hordes of adoring fans who will keep coming back and getting as much sock yarn as you and the Elves can pack up. Maybe if the many hundreds of us who are happy keep commenting we will drown out the few unhappy whingers.

Another bug…people who save up an entire month’s worth of important work and do it on the last day of the month and then want to know why I am behind with my part that has to be done after they are finished…That REALLY bugs me…
…..Mr. Possum who eats the cat’s food and then has the audacity to hide out under the house and the raise cane all night long…My dogs don’t like it and neither do I! Just wait until I borrow that live trap…you will soon have a new home far, far away from mine!

It bugs me that I’m the last one to take a shower and there’s no hot water left. No wonder I have so many bad hair days.
On the other hand, I’m kinda glad to know I’m not the only one with a dusty house who’s tired of hearing the same old music and is desperate to get to the hairdresser! And I have all my new Loopy loot to look forward to! Thank you, Sheri!

What bugs me? That the second sock won’t knit itself.
The big one is that I have to have three meals a day. I am so tired of thinking of things to cook for meals, lunch is especially boring. I’d rather just eat some non-people Soylent Green and then only have to worry about dinner! This will pass once it gets to be Spring and more produce is in season. It’s forecasting some snowy stuff and icy stuff, then super duper cold next week, meaning the flight we are supposed to be on on Monday morning may get cancelled, and if not we have to ride the commuter train to the airport instead of driving there. Should be interesting.
The other bug I have is when people and yes I will say it……Knitters…..don’t read all of the directions, then ask more questions that could have been answered if they read everything the first time. You may know what I’m talking about.

2- When my kids just strait up won’t listen. Do I really need to tell them to stop doing something 12 times before they stop?
3- When people feel the need to comment on the number of children I have. 4 isn’t that many.
4- When I get asked if I know how I got my kids. Um, ya….

What bugs me today is that, although my whole family is off for MLK Day, including me, I am going to have to go in to work this afternoon. I work at a college, and it is check-in day for the spring semester. The residence life staff reports to me, and will be in full force. They are very dependable, and it is not because of them I need to go in. Financial services needs to be available as well to verify payments, etc, and they are not happy and have been vocal about it. I need to be there to keep feathers unruffled. I’ll take my NORO socks and get lots done, and I will protect my staff. Guess that’s what MLK would do too. So I’m not so much annoyed at going in as I am at pettiness. We do what we have to do - I just wish there was less complaining in the world. In the meantime, I LOVE that NORO yarn!!!!

Bothers:
–Folks who grump at Sheri for what is NOT HER FAULT! There are only so many skeins of sock yarn and places in a sock club at any given time. Chill…
–Folks who come into the apartment complex laundry room on the busiest day of the week (Sun) and then take up *five* washers at once. I felt so bad for the poor gal who came in not three minutes later and discovered there were none available.
–I lack the manual dexterity to trim my cat’s claws, and don’t want to fight him into his carrier and drive to heck and beyond for the only place ’round here which will trim cat nails.
Buoyancies:
–Sheri and the Loopy Elves who give so much to make so many people happy. And their order-to-out the door time? Phenomenally quick!
–The sun is shining outside my window.
– I have not yet botched the start of my “Fenna” shawl (Myrna Stahman’s top-down Faroese construction rocks!) and I’m using up stash yarn.
– Maybe tomorrow, I’ll become an *official* Loopy Groupie!

I hear a bunch of…I deserve some compensation because I had to wait for my food or will I get a discount because of this inconvenience and I need to talk to your manager. YIKES! What bugs me?
1) Getting a ticket for running a stop sign that I am convinced I didn’t run. (
) Subsequently, havinbg to spend stash money to stay out of jail. I wonder if they’ll take a barter in sock yarn???
2) Never quite being sure whether garbage day will be delayed or not after a holiday. (I swear all the neighbors sit in the houses looking out the window waiting for SOMEONE to make the first curb-move.
3) along the ipod lines…. I love my ipod… it’s the HEADPHONES I have issues with….. ipod standards- not standard to my ears. They hurt. Bose in- ears- 100.00 worth of fall out of your ears and short out garbage… Shure EC2’s? Nice, but fall out too. Doesn’t anybody make a tiny pair that will sound great- fit in my purse/knit bag AND stay in without causing stretchmarks to my ear canal (because they’re too big)or falling out???????
TMI- just for fun: after 3 kids- my ear canals are about the only stretch mark free zone- I’m rather proud of them…..and will not sacrifice, even for my ipod.

I was dissappointed about not getting into the sock club, but I was a little relieved as well. I’ve joined two sock clubs for this year so far, and I’m a little worried about keeping up!!
You’ll be getting an email when spots open up again. I’m going to keep trying until I get in!!!
Thanks for all you do!

Take some time for yourself Sheri.
1. It bugs me that in a few short months my youngest will be graduating from High School and staying in CA while I am moving to Ohio. (Both of my kids will live on the west coast) I don’t understand the people that say they can’t wait until their kids move out. I like mine and want them to be close. Such is life.
2. Moving for the 14th time. Maybe this will be the last (I am very hopeful)
3. My boss. I just love being called into his office to stand and wait while he ruminates over what he wants to discuss. On some occassions this is no shorter than 10 minutes before he gets to it and I am expected not to speak and disturb his thought process. Yikes, he makes me nuts. Job change is one good thing about moving. Although I have left some good bosses too.
Hang in there Sheri. It is your business and you can’t please everyone so run it how you want it. We will still be here.

What bugs me is that there is not enough time to knit everying that I want to do right now, and so I keep putting aside what I want to knit for me to take care of everyone else.
What bugs me is that my mom is back in the hospital, after only being out 20 days and I have to run around making sure all of the doctors talk to one another and play nice.

what bugs me is that i need to work in order to afford things like yarn, and of course… electricity and all those other things.
i’ve had a three day weekend spent with my wonderful guy and some sock knitting and tomorrow it’s back to the grind!

I have two at the moment, a knitting and a non knitting related complaint:
It really bugs me when I lose the working DPN to a sock that is almost finished. and I mean toe and heel, less than a day to an FO kind of almost finished.
I am also bugged by ignorance (which is my bigger, more philosophical “it bugs me” for the day).

It bugs me that one can’t knit while on vicodin (well, one can, but the results tend to be a bit wonky - ask me how I know this?
)
It bugs me that the weatherman calls for snow and it’s still not snowing!
It bugs me that I had to return to work today after a 5 day weekend (2 snow days, 2 weekend days, 1 holiday)
And it really bugs me that I am almost out of chocolate in my office!

Does your cat investigate the out-going packages? I received an order from you over the weekend, and my little Yorkie wouldn’t leave the box alone, even after I took the kisses out. It was kind of cute—she doesn’t get out much, and I think that’s the closest she’s been to a cat in quite a while.

Did Gracie see the Yarn Harlot’s post on Saturday? Gracie seems to have an excellent tail for tub swishing herself
Hope you’re feeling ok Sheri (there is a wicked - and long-lasting - flu bug going around); missed a Monday post from you

On the good surprises — your Noro sock yarn makes a beautiful, springy fabric! Highly recommend to all Loopy Ewers.

What bugged me. No invite to the Sock Club. Did I get over it. Yes. There is always next year.
What bugged me today: Our car is officially dead. I hope I can get over that as quickly as I did not getting into the Club.
Take care. Looking forward to the day I can get Wollmeise and knit with it in my new car!

What bugs me is looking at my NEW Loopy Ewe travel mug all day on my desk and thinking that I shouldn’t be working - I SHOULD BE HOME KNITTING!

Hi Sheri,
As for your #6 thing that bugs you about vegetables….don’t you know that chocolate is a vegetable? It comes from beans! And doctors recommend at least five servings of vegetables a day =)

My Perfect Knitting Room
Hi Sheri,
My perfect knitting room is something I dream about often. My fiance and I currently live in a “cozy” one-bedroom condo, but once I’m finished with school and we can afford to buy a house, I’m very excited about setting up my own knitting room. For some reason, I really love the blocking phase of knitting. However, having a huge table or old mattress would take up a lot of space, so I’ve been contemplating a “Murphy Blocking Board.” You know those “Murphy Beds” that fold out of the wall in tiny New York apartments? Why not have a blocking board that you can fold in and out of the wall whenever it’s time to block?
Other necessities in my perfect knitting room are a window so I can watch the snow fall (I live in Edmonton, where it’s Winter for about seven months of the year), and a mahogany table with a wing-back chair so I can sit and stare at patterns and spread out all my yarn.
A tea kettle and tea stash are also on the “must have” list, along with a portable Ipod speaker system so I could listen to the Beatles while I knit.
Your knitting room looks amazing, by the way! I love the colour of the walls.
One thing’s for sure - when I finally have my knitting room it will be full of Loopy Ewe yarn.
Terri
