Okay, so I have never done the Q challenges, but I think that's because I had no idea they existed. ANYhow! I actually started a pair of "pop-up paws" which are fingerless gloves with an attached cover that makes them mittens. I finished them in 2 days though these days were separated by a about a week and a half. I LOVE THEM! I actually used Schaefer Yarns' Lola in Raspberry Mocha which I got from The Loop Ewe...and I have enough left to make a matching hat! I will submit a photo, but at the moment my camera is out of commission so i will have to borrow. Who knows...I might even make another pair by the end of the Q1-08 challenge.

On a side note, I am really happy to be a Loopy Groupie! Imagine my surprise when I opened my order yesterday...it really made my day! Ya'll are really great over there at the Loopy Ewe! Thanks for everything!

I would like to try mittens. I was looking at some of the patterns in magnificient mittens and I was thinking that it would look really cool knit up in a solid and a koigu kjersti - stranded, and yet fairisle coloring. :) Having never done mittens, I'm excited to try them, if I can only fend off the two kittens and the two toddlers long enough....
april you say? It's in the realm of "possible". :)

I'm definitely in for the Q1-08 challenge. Will my photo be sorted into the Q1-08 photo album, on your end, based on the description?

Question for the Q1-08 Challenge: Does it still count if the project is something you've going for a little while, but is still the "first of its kind" and it is finished by April?

This will be my first Loopy Quarterly challenge. I am going to knit my second pair of socks, but my first non-basic sock, Monkeys, so that's kinda lace knitting too right? I've never don that either. AND I am knitting my first pair of fingerless mitts.

I have been knitting for just over a year and have taught myself everything I know (other than the long tail cast-on taught to me by my 11 yr old and the knit stitch - taught to m by my 9 year old). I just accomplished my first pair of stranded mittens, and my goal is to have my list of Knitting Accomplishments complete before the end of 2 years (or earlier)

It's on my blog,

I received that same Noro as a Christmas gift! It's a little like knitting with candle wick, but the colors as beautiful. I made a pair of Bearfoot socks right before so you know it felt even more different t! Glad to hear the Noro sofens up when washing. I used a 2X1 rib because it gave the yarn nice body. I hope you will let us all see how sock #2 comes out with the color repreats. My skein had only 3 repeats but I see from your sock you used only a little more than one, so I may still be able to match the colors. Also glad to hear you'll be stocking Bearfoot!

I want to try the challenge and I've done a bit of thinking. I've started a shrug, which I've never knit before, but then I saw quant on knitty. I've never done enterlac before and I could go stash diving this weekend and come up with something that I could wear next week. It's so tempting, even though I need to finish the sweater that's on the needles.

Oh, soo many cool things in the next sneak up. I won't be able to get all of the things that I really want. I have been waiting, seemingly forever for the Fiesta Boomerang, but you are getting in the groupie size clear bags in black; that's terrific, and something that I've wanted for a long time. My chevron scarf of 2 Fiesta yarns is quickly outgrowing its regular project bag with handles. And a travel mug! I hope that has a top that closes so that it will be safe around computers, since I live with mine in my lap. I'm curious on the red canvas bags: do they run if they get wet, like if they got rained on, or something? And the new DIC Classy colors, and Mountain Colors Bearfoot! So much, in the first sneak up of the year. Wow!

I hope I get my email message this time! I never did get mine last time, yet I got all of the previous ones, since, like April? Many thanks for all that you do for me and us!
