Well, we flew *over* Colorado on our way to and from our quick break in Hawaii, and you're right, lots of snow! It sure got brown around Kansas...and it's still brown here....Hawaii is a lot greener...sigh.
I visited only one yarn shop, and it wasn't just a yarn shop. In Hanalei, Kauai there is a shop called "Strings and Things" that not only sells yarn and has knitting classes, but sells ukeleles, guitars, percussion instruments, etc... Great fun, and of course I had to buy some "souvenir" yarn! http://www.checkitouthawaii.com/Shopping/Shops_and_Boutiques/Hanalei_Strings_%26_Things.html#
Projects completed: not many, 'cause the roads in Kauai are extremely wind-y and bumpy, especially when dh gets an oh-my-does-it-have-any-suspension-at-all Jeep for a rental car and we spend a lot of time driving. *And* it's still winter (=windy) over there, so knitting during what time we did spend on the beach was extremely impractical. *And* I slept most of the way on the plane home and probably half the way there. One pair of socks. One. You're a better woman than I!

Glad you had a wonderful vacation with the family. You must really feel loved and appreciated with everyone missing you. That includes me too. The Loopy Elves held down the fort. I got my order in record time just like when you are there. Thanks Elves for the handwritten note. Hugs

Sheri,
I received my 6th order this week - loved the notes from the Elves. The gifts are asbolutely wonderfull Thanks - you all greatly improved my Friday.

My order was three skeins of Dream in Color Classy in Lava - wonderful stuff! I wound a ball that nightt and started knitting the Agatha shawl (from Wendy's blog). It's a real joy to work with.

I am so glad you enjoyed yourself. I dont like skiing either but want to try snowshoeing. my friends say it is awesomw fun. I am plain to scared to ski downhill. SNow mobiling sounds fun but i dont know if i would enjoy the noise, only if they are noiseless. I walked up from SYlvan Lake to Harney Peak on Satureday. I sure could tell the altitude change though. It is 2 1/2 hours up and coming down was way harder the sun started melting the snow and it iced over higher up and went to slush lower down: so walking down wasnt easy TG for my found walking stick.
Glad the whole family had fun. CG reallay had to hustle to and from college huh. I am glad he takes his studies serious.
I cant wait to see the recipes. I am dying to cook, but with no running water and having to wash pots at my gf it just takes the fun out of it. Eating off paper plates is no fun either. SO our eating sounds like midterm and finals week: sandwiches, hot dogs, microwave stuff ramen instant stuff. sigh
Cant wait to see all you knitting you got done. My computer is being a stinking brat and wont download pictures. THis morning i had an epiphany: I have a scanner. But how to you convert scanned items into a usable size of picture? hmmmm.
I am sure Loopy missed you. I was in MO 2003 and i noticed how flat i found it, but then i live in western SD in the badlands edge, so I am use to buttes and rolling plains. So i understand the feeling.
