Three Things Post and a CONTEST!
Here’s a twist on my regular “Three Things” post. Today it’s “Two Truths and a Lie”. I’m just betting you will have no trouble figuring out the lies….
Three things that I must stop doing:
- eating Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies
- going to bed late because I’m “not tired yet”
- knitting single socks
Three things that I am looking forward to next week:
- our appointment with the tax guy
- College Guy coming home for Spring Break
- our week’s vacation in the Colorado mountains starting next Friday
Three things that will be going up in the next Sneak Up:
- roving (from Lone Star Arts and The Dyeing Arts)
- yarn (from Keagan Lane and Farmhouse Fannie’s Fingering)
- swimming suits (summer is coming, you know)
Three things that I did this week:
- laundry
- made cookies with my new Kitchenaid Mixer (of course RED)
- went out to dinner with WH
Three records broken this week:
- 5 minutes (the time it took to sell out the entire batch of Wollmeise)
- 3800+ posts (which now means the Loopy Groupies hold the Ravelry record for one thread!)
- 10 socks (the number of socks I made to match up to some of the singles)
Three things I had to buy at the grocery store this week:
- Eggs
- Almonds
- Milk
Three reasons to leave a comment today:
- this is the March Blog Contest. Winner announced next Wednesday
- you like to make lists of “three”, too
- everyone who comments gets a free latte
Sheri yourememberthatonethingineachlistisalie,right??
(Sonofreelattesforeveryonewhocomments.sorry.)
- interesting
- educational
- funny
- agree
- disagree
- love

For Laura – a site you might enjoy bookmarking is http://televisionwithoutpity They keep track of many shows (including Survivor) with pithy (and often hilarious) commentaries – no holds barred. There is usually a quick recap of an episode the day after and then a blow-by-blow version almost as good as watching the whole episode several days after. Excellent for when you miss your favorite show.
Three things….(and funny, but we make new employees do 2 truths & a lie and then everybody guesses the lie)….
Three things I’m doing this weekend (all true):
1. NOT WORKING (which makes it much better than last weekend
2. KNITTING a lot, including meeting up with my knit group tomorrow a.m.
3. Poring over my recipe books for something new – I love to cook a lot on Sundays when I have a relaxed weekend

1. love to knit
2. love to clean house
3. buy yarn from Loopy Ewe.
guess which on is a lie? (#2)
Sign me up for being a contributor to the longest blog on record at Ravelry. Yes I got up at 6am and turned my computer on and saw the same people who had been on the night before still there waiting for the sneak up. Yes I was very lucky to get some wollmeise for myself and a good friend. We had planed what we wanted the night before and I have an account with Paypal so it was a fast and furious … F5,, click on buy, click on buy, click on buy ,, check out, choose Paypal, login and accept and get a confirmation order. (thank God I am a trained purchaser of Loopy Ewe yarn and know how to get what I want and check out quickly)
BTW all I keep hearing about at the office is March Madness and these guys don’t knit so I wonder how they heard about the Wollmeise blowing out in only 5 minutes. That is what they mean when they say March Madness…. right?

Wow, I can’t believe the Wollmeise went in five minutes. I knew I was lucky to get a skein, but I didn’t realize how lucky. This was probably at least my third time trying to purchase Wollmeise. When the LE first started to carry it, I almost got a skein, but I didn’t really like the colors available so I let it go. This time the colors were great. I got Rittersporn.
All three of these things are true:
1. This week I became a Loopy Groupie
2. This week I got a skein of Wollmeise
3. This week I was very weepy (long story). If it wasn’t for the small joys that the Loopie Ewe brought me, I would have been even weepier.

3. Getting “my” crap picked up enough so Hubster’s foul mood will back off.
Yeah, 3 is the lie. But it’s his b-day on Sunday, so I should do it anyway, right? It’s just tough since I’ve been traveling on business for three weeks, just got home, and really just want to sleep and knit/quilt. Oh well!

Three unusual things this week:
1. BFF Liz spent all week in the hospital with pneumonia and no internet.
2. My friend Kendra got sick and had to cancel breakfast.
3. My mother had three BAD arthritis days.
Three things that cheered me up this week:
1. My crocuses, tulips, and daffodils have all poked up above
ground and may start blooming sometime soon.
2. My cat has learned to wash dishes.
3. I’m almost finished crocheting the Bohus Scarf (Spr 2007 Interweave
Crochet, out of Trekking XXL Color 100) and it’s REALLY cool!
Three reasons I can hardly wait for Easter to come:
1. The Choir will sing or practice 7 times in 8 days and it’s really
fun to stand up that much and perform beautiful music.
2. I gave up yarn shopping for Lent.
3. I gave up baked goods AND ice cream, too.
Three things I’m excited about for the weekend:
1. The one-year-old birthday party tomorrow.
2. A chance to get my room at least partially cleaned
(read: Stash sorting).
3. Buying a new pair of jeans.
OK, I could go on, but I think I’ll stop there. It’s just too tempting.

Three things I love:
-allergies and asthma being set off, letting me know spring is truly here
-watching Hokies play basketball like they know what they’re doing while I knit Hokie socks. This may not last much longer, must enjoy while it does.
-NASCAR is practically in my hometown this weekend, providing excuse to stay at home and knit in front of TV while races are on instead of doing housework. A practice allowed and encouraged by family during certain sacred-to-us sporting events. No having to cook, clean or make mandatory visits.
A definite truth: Covering your knitting habit with the appearance of being a sports junkie will give you unlimited knitting time in my household. Just don’t slip up and accidentally use the wrong terminology for the sport currently on the tube, thus blowing your cover. It’s also a great time to make guesses as to who will win and using “you’ll buy me this yarn from TLE if I’m right” as your part of the contest.

Three Things I Am Looking Forward to This Week:
1. Trying my new plan to be organized about cooking dinner (opposed to the old plan, which was be kind of lazy and eat a frozen pizza or Chex mix). My new plan involves a white board and a grocery list!
2. Cleaning my apartment (which sounds weird, but it’s kind of gross in here right now) so it will look presentable for when my friends come over on Saturday for a scrapbooking extravaganza.
3. Watching American Idol while knitting socks!

3 Things I don’t like about listing 3 things:
1. 3 is never enough. I always have more than 3 things to do. More than 3 things I want to eat. More than 3 things I want to knit. More than 3 kids… Always, more than 3 loads of laundry to do.
2. 3 is an uneven number. I don’t like uneven numbers. I always said I had to have an even number of kids (that’s how we ended up with 4 kids). Obviously I have more than 3 issues too. I’d prefer to list at least 4 things. That’s a nice tidy number.
3. Bad things always happen in threes. So, surely that means that by only listing three things I’m bringing bad luck on me. Yet, again those issues are apparently coming up.
But seeing as you asked for us to list 3 things, I will be obedient and list 3 things that I want.
1. Wollmeise
2. A yarn room
3. 48 hour days, so that I have more time to knit.
(plus I want chocolate – always chocolate.)

3 most delightful things that I got to do last week:
1. Go back to the Philippines to be the cord sponsor at my best friend’s wedding! (You’d think that with a 27+ hour plane journey I WOULD have gotten some knitting done, but… I’m so used to the flight that I just put my head down and didn’t wake up except to eat!)
2. Was forced by said friend into girliness via my first facial, pedicure, and manicure EVER (I’m still coping with the candy-apple red of my nails!)
3. Go ballroom dancing with my grandmother, the way I always do when I go home. (Sadly untrue–this is the FIRST time I’ve gone home that I haven’t gone ballroom dancing with her and her ladies.)
No shot at the Wollmeise for me, though–not only is it a 12-hour time difference, we don’t have Internet at home! *laugh*
I’m kind of glad we don’t, though… if I’d missed out on even a moment of time with my friends and family because I’d been F5ing, I’d have been KICKING myself! No yarn is worth that! ^_~
