Thanks for the welcome!

My pantry stash item is brown sugar. When I feel like baking, I stop by the grocery store on my way home from work and I am never sure if I have enough brown sugar in the pantry. Plus, even if I have it, I am always afraid that it will have turned into a rock and I just don't want to deal with all of the tricks for "fixing" it. (which never seem to work anyway.) Or, I'm not sure if what I have is dark or light brown sugar. Or, I'm not sure which I will need so then I have to get both! Too bad I can't knit socks out of brown sugar!

I will probably be making the banana pudding tonight - seeing that recipe brought back lots of memories of Nilla Wafers. (I will have to reread the recipe to see if it needs any brown sugar though - maybe I could sprinkle some on top!)

I made this (or something pretty darn close last night), though I didn't do the multiple layers due to a lack of large enough container. It was very tasty. I added about a half cup of mini chocolate chips to the pudding, and possibly will make it next time with a tablespoon or two of dark rum (or I might caramelize the bananas first).

Thanks for the recipe!

Welcome to all the new Groupies! There are getting to be so many of us, we should consider a Groupie Convention. Like the fling, only bigger.

Banana pudding is about one of my favorite things! There have been times when I've been hard-pressed to leave the dessert aside for the dinner party, instead of running off with it to a dark closet somewhere and snarfing the whole thing. 8-) And hey, doesn't Numma Numma make a banana pudding colorway??? Combine two of my favorite things and **swoon**!!!

In my house, we've got two stashes in all the food areas: the one I create, and the one my mom (i.e., my 79-year-old 3-year-old) creates. Like, say, in the pantry, mine is soup. Mama's is sugar cubes. In the fridge, mine is jams/jellies (6 jars) and pickles (I have 4 kinds at the moment), and Mama's is lemonade (4 bottles, all different kinds) and lima beans (believe it or not, 3 bags because she keeps getting them when her friends take her to the store because she KNOWS we don't have any, which isn't quite as funny as when she grabs edamame or fava beans because she won't shop with her glasses on and they look the same in the pictures, and she refuses to try them).

And we won't even DISCUSS the cat's Good-Soft-Food stash. ;-)

What size packages of vanilla pudding do you use? They come in a large and small size. I bought both - so I'd better ready to go as soon as I hear from you! Sounds delicious! Thanks.

I'll have to try the banana pudding, because I have three huge! bananas left from going to the fruit stand on Friday. Of course, I don't have about half of the ingredients, so I will need to improvise.

Oh, I'm making tilapia for my hubby for the first time today. Just wishing myself luck and all!
