Your back porch sounds terrific! I'm lucky to have the whole downstairs of the house I share with my mother to myself, so I have little lingering spots wherever there is a window! Something about basking in little patches of sunlight and being able to see what's going on outside just makes me happy. I have a north-facing window in my bedroom with a big comfy white chair right under it for sitting and knitting, and the window is street-level so I can be nosy at the same time, lol! Then I'm in the process of finding a chair to go in my soon-to-be "stash room" to go under THAT window (south-facing).

I have pondered your question on where I linger, and I realize that I just don't linger. When I'm in my yard, I'm usually working in my gardens (planting, or weeding). I don't even own lawn furniture.

I love your porch. Someday I will add a screened in porch to my house, then maybe I will learn to linger.

Congratulations to Knitting Daughter on graduating from high school!

I love your back porch---looks like the perfect place to linger. If I'm not lingering in front of the computer checking out your blog, Wendy's blog, or Ravelry, I'm settled in the big armchair next to it, with the knitting and maybe a cool drink. Unless the dog got there first and refuses to budge.

Oh, I love love love your porch.....here in Arizona that is what is called an Arizona room. Seriously, it is.

I love Arizona, but I sure do miss the summers in the midwest and the smell of the grass, trees and such and seeing your porch area brings back lovely memories.

Congratulations to KD. I wish you the best of everything. Sheri you must be so proud of your two children. They seem like great kids. Love your porch. I linger on mine if it is not to hot out, other wise I linger in my knitting room or living room with the AC turned to the coldest! Hope you had a great weekend. Hugs

Backyard...edged with woods before the golf course starts. No noisy neighbors. Finch feeders and bird baths, hummingbird feeders with high hopes, my cats, my knitting, a glass of wine.........ahhhhhh

I love to linger in my recliner knitting with Chuy, my pomeranian, in my lap, knitting while listening to a book on my iPod.
I'm with Wendy-I also linger at your blogs, Sheri.
Finally, I linger TOO long at TLE and on ravelry.
But then what else is so much fun?

As a mother of a 6yo son and a 3yo daughter, lingering is not an option. It will be someday, but not now.

My favorite lingering place is in the backyard. We made a little "garden" and put pots of flowers, hanging baskets, birdfeeders, squirrel feeder, and my glider, chair and table. We have stepping stones to the sandbox (for the dogs) and to the birdbath. It is shady and cool. My pups like to linger there, too.
