It’s a Perfect Day for …
Cool weather things! Here in St. Louis we’ve finally let go of the heat and humidity (at least for a few days) and settled into cloudy and cool. WH and I ate dinner on the screen porch last night and it was downright chilly, which made me happy. I love sweater and sweatshirt weather! In fact, I came inside and got my Loopy Ewe Sweatshirt and warmed right up. I think that means that fall is in the air. Today is more of the same – cool, cloudy, and wonderful. (Except if you’re trying to play in the PGA, which is also here this weekend. We’ve been inundated with rain over the past few days, which makes for soggy courses.) So here are the things that today is perfect for:
Loopy Ewe Sweatshirts (which will warm you right up)
Pumpkin Spice Lattes (which are now back in season)
And stocking 1400 lbs. of Cascade (which will take us a good part of forever to do. But OH is this wall going to look gorgeous when we’re done!)
What is today “perfect” for in your neck of the woods?

Ohhh, maybe I’m the first. Let’s see, I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte yesterday. Very tasty and very good. I can see how they could be habit-forming.
The nip in the air reminds of chili simmering on the stove. I can smell the chili powder and cumin. Maybe it needs to be a bit cooler but I’m already drooling thinking of that first bite.

Well, it’s still been a bit toasty as far as weather goes here in the Northern VA area (I think maybe rain tomorrow though). We had a mini golf outing for work yesterday and I’m sure it was in the 90s.
Warm today too. So, I had to opt for a Banana Berry Smoothie today. Although, I have had 2 PSL’s this week – good thing the office is chilly! I was just so excited about PSL’s being back, that I had to have one! And, then another the next day! : )
Have a great weekend! And, I can’t wait to see all that yarn once it’s stocked – it will be so beautiful!! : )

In my neck of the woods it’s still mid-70′s and sunny (maybe that would be chilly to some?). For me, that means long, glorious bike rides! And knitting at night with a light breeze floating in the window. Tomatoes are finally deciding it’s safe to ripen. And the garlic has been harvested.
Also, sadly, it means I better get cracking on the firewood stacking!

It’s still warm out here in NC, but it is chilly in my office, so today is perfect for a chai tea latte, staying inside and watching movies and knitting, of course. (it is cloudy and rainy out).

If I had a wall like that, I’d be making pictures or playing some kind of game when putting yarn in it! o.O
Today has been the perfect day at work. Not too busy that I can’t remember what to do, and just busy enough that I’m not spending 7 hours trying to look busy. And its a Friday.

The weather’s pretty perfect up here too today. That note of Fall in the air. Also almost perfect is our new 4-season room which is almost done, but not quite. It’s fun to sit in it and imagine a few weeks from now when we finally have the finishing touches completed. And your new addition to Loopy Central is incredible! Please treat us to a picture of the Cascade wall when everything is put in place. What a colorful eye candy that will be. Congratulations on your completion and continued success!

I love sweater/sweatshirt weather. Tropical Storm Hanna is dumping a heavy rain here right now so it’ll be a perfect knitting/spinning/movie watching/popcorn eating/cat-dog-”lapping” evening. Tomorrow morning (rainy again) would be a perfect sleeping-in/wearing-your-pj’s-all-day/knitting/spinning/movie-watching/cat-dog-”lapping” day but I have to work a few hours in the morning then “man” the fiber artist’s guild booth at local folk fest tomorrow afternoon–but that’ll be okay.
I got my CTH burnished berries at lunch. My perfect colorway and I will be buying more of this yarn–loved it.
Please take a picture of Cascade wall when finished it’s already beginning to look colorful.
Have a great weekend.

I like cooler, sweatshirt weather too! We’ve got Hannah coming through tonight so it’s a good time to be inside knitting and watching DVDs. I’m on the verge of finishing a lace project (over a year in the making), so WOOT! ANd thanks for the news about PSLs being available again. I was just thinking this morning how good I had been to avoid going into Starbucks for about a month. Oh well.

It is also a perfect day to finish up my “bee socks” aka Marie Antoinette socks and get ready to cast on something Fall-ish!
Maybe that wall of Cascade is a good reason for all the Spring flingers to come back and help!

Great day for ordering some Burnished Berries, Timmie was talking about how wonderful hers was, so I had to have some too.

Well, since it’s supposed to be close to 100 degrees AGAIN today, I’ll probably go in the pool as soon as Hubster gets home and spend the day swimming and tanning. Tonight will be for knitting socks. I also have to work on the CD (yes, we’ve recorded it and are now in the mastering phase) with my duet partner, who is down in Idyllwild (by Los Angeles) working with the sound engineer. We’re forced to do it all via phone and are trying to have it ready for the concert I play in the third Saturday of October. Who knows – I may be waving at everyone from the Grammys one day! (Yeah, right… I’ll grow my hair back sooner than that.) I’ll also be swimming all weekend and then heading out to Folsom Prison – Monday is prison day. I wish autumn would come; I hate these hot temps (they make me sick), and I really want to begin living in sweats.

Thanks for the update on the pumpkin spice lattes! I love those (but no nutmeg shaken on top – blech).
How are you organizing the Cascade? Must be by color *number*? Doesn’t look like color families….
Turns out that things are perfect right now for….yard work. Which doesn’t sound exciting. But….I moved into a new (rental) house in July and the yard has been neglected for about 10 years and let’s not even talk about the weeds and overgrowth (can you say “crop circles in my yard”?). But a co-worker popped in my office this morning and told (not asked) me that he and his pile of grown sons (many of them) will come by Monday and work on my yard for me. I’m in charge of pizza and pop and about a zillion yard waste bags that they said they’re gonna fill.
Reminds me….we haven’t talked about random acts of kindness in your blog for awhile, have we Sheri? Boy, is this ever one that I’m on the receiving end of!!!!
(will mean I can knit more after work in another work instead of pulling weeds)

Today is the perfect day to sit inside in the A/C room and knit hats and socks in preperation for the “cooler” months ahead of us. Does Loopy enjoy PSL’s as well? He looks like he’s ready to dive into the one pictured in the blog post! Have a good weekend!

Man, that Cascade wall at my LYS is the one that always inspires my color sense. And I want to pull it all down on the floor and roll in it. They’ve told me it’s OK, as long as I pick it up and put it away when I’m done.
Today was perfect for a long walk with my puppy, and for working from home with puppy, kitty, (the two of them still not quite social, though) and Mama (who twisted one of her arthritic knees and couldn’t be left alone).

Well, first of all–today was a perfect day for an afterwork nap. But first, I opened a terrific box of yarn when a I got home. I always have to be careful to rewrap the yarn and stick it back in the box while I make room in the kitty-security system. If Francis only knew what is in that box…well there would have been no napping! Fortunately, he isn’t interested in the yarn I”m knitting, but anything left unattended, well, obviously, it needs some attention!

I’m almost finished with my costume sewing, and I’m intermittently ogling and petting my (ahem) stash-enhancement from today’s trip, AND my sock club package!. It’s all so gorgeous, I have no idea which I should start first!

Today has been a strange one, alternately cloudy and very cool, to sunny and a little warmer… so I continued on what is a habit for me on Labor Day week: Fall Cleaning! I am sorting out the summer things for packing up (not that we in the Pacific NW had much of a summer this year), getting out the sweaters and such. Mopping the floors and changing out the rugs from cotton blends to the wools that feel so good on the feet when it’s cold. I am going through the stashes of all the hobbies and starting to make up “care packages” for friends both old and yet to be made… I am always amazed at the abundance I have, despite serious efforts to downsize twice a year. And it’s nice to share it with others, gets my attitude adjusted frequently.
Since I’m being so good, maybe I could use some stash enhancement… I’ll peek into the shop!

Perfect day for shopping at the LYS! Also found out, when I got home, that I already had multiple skeins of the yarn I just ordered. Too strange. How could anyone ever do that? HA!
I too had a PS today but it was a Frappachino (I know I spelled that wrong). I’m new at the coffee thing and had no idea it was cold rather than hot!
I’ll learn to order a hot one eventually. But it sure was tasty!
And if I can ever figure out how to download a picture from my phone to my PC, I’ll show you my new “Yarn Room”!! I have no idea how I accumulated this much yarn! But it sure is a great room now. The kitties love it!
Cloudy, cooler than normal, but less rainy than I thought there would be. Hannah isin’t acting like Hugo (which is a good thing), but we still need the rain! Maybe ttomorrow.

Today in Seattle was perfect for *pretending* that summer isn’t really over. It is over, and deep down inside we all know it, but sometimes denial is good for the soul! So today we pretended we couldn’t see the hints of gold in the trees, or feel the nip in the morning air; that we didn’t notice the baby birds have all grown up, or that the wild blackberries have all been eaten. We didn’t spend the day planting the fall bulbs or cleaning the furnace filters. We *did* eat apricots and watermelon and corn on the cob, and walked long in the warm afternoon with our faces turned to the sun, and we pretended that we’ll be able to do the same next week, and the week after that, and the week after that.
But really, we know we won’t.

Another perfect thing was taking my son for his check-up/shots and getting to see my favorite pediatrician (who is oh, so cute!). And then going for ice cream at Cold Stone to make me feel better after his shots. Nothing like chocolate, peanut butter, and cookie dough to make me feel better!
AND, my Loopy package arrived today! Ya hoo!

We had rain here in NE Indiana for the first time in about 6 weeks, so that is something to be thankful about. Secondly it was a “perfect day” for the Shop Hop up in the Lansing, Mi area. There were four yarn stores involved and I was “forced” to get something at each store. I am always amazed at how four different yarns stores can have such different yarns and very little overlap. It is rough when one is forced to buy yummy yarns of all types and different colors. I was so bad, but it was fun. Now to use the wonderful stuff, thankfully the weather will be cooler here and then downright cold, perfect to knit. Maybe I might even win a door prize, I will keep my fingers crossed….

I am sooo jealous – southern CA is basically boring from March to November it is Tshirts and flip flops… December to February is long sleeved T’s and flip flops…well maybe clogs. I grew up in eastern PA and after36 years out here, I really miss the seasons. About 8PM it was still about 80 out – not a great night for sweaters!
Oh well, the morning brings an early trip to the farmers market – way too much to choose from and then Starbucks. Yummm PSL and a cranberry orange scone.
The wall looks like it will be overwhelming. Maybe you should put in a ” visiting area” where one would be able to zone indefinately and let it all sink in.

Dear Miss Sheri,
You have made me homesick. ;( I’m stuck in this terribly hot (& possibly run over by a hurricane or 3) Gitmo and I miss FALL!!!! I love football season and cozying up in a nice hoody and ‘cozy pants’. We don’t have pumpkin spice lattes here. (It wouldn’t be nearly as good because it’s not chilly!!!) We do have a coffee shop that “We Serve Starbucks Coffee” – but, it’s just not the same…. and we don’t get the pumpkin spice lattes here…. did I mention that!? — That’s my fave btw. A couple years ago when I was going to Ohio State I would stop at the Starbucks drive through and get a pumpkin spice latte and cinnamon scone… could you (or anyone reading this) please have the combo and think of me.
And the 220!!!! oh!! how yummy!!! I do a lot of felted purses and it’s been really difficult not to have allllll of the million of colors that are available in the 220 line… (I’ve been using another brand – with limited colors, trying to keep the overhead low) I can’t wait to see the room finished… awesome!
Congrats on the expansion! That is so great! I can’t believe how big the 220 wall is! It’s beautiful!

It’s been a perfect day to catch up on housework and then redesign a scarf that just wasn’t working!

I hadn’t realized the Pumpkin Spice Latte was back! Around here, though, we’re still hitting temps in the 90s, so Green Tea Frappucino is my drink of choice.
For us, it’s the perfect day to finally hang the wallpaper border in Little Miss’s room and catch up on chores like laundry while enjoying the air conditioning!

How do you decide which color goes where?

Today’s the first day in several months that the boyfriend and I both have off. Just hanging out, eating lunch together and wasting the afternoon away with videogames.
I wish I could say it was fall here, but today’s high was 89 (I’m in Texas). Not very fall-like to this yankee.

Love this weather! I can finally keep my windows open rather than having to crank up the AC. Cleaned up my patio, chopped lots of vegies from my farmshare, did some knitting and reading. Perfect, productive weekend.
Oh that Cascade wall is going to be Fabulous!

Oh, seriously? That looks fun. But crazy. I can’t wait to see all those colors up on the site so I can browse and combine colors in my cart.

OOOH, I’m thinking it would be a perfect day to come help you stock your wall of Cascade. Or maybe just to sit and watch! We’re still working on hazy, hot and humid here in Georgia.

I’m thinking it would be a perfect day to come visit TLE and help stock your wall of Cascade yarn. It’s rained, then rained harder all Saturday from Tropical Storm Hanna – it was a good day to stay inside and knit and by thankful we had power.

It’s cool(50s) and rainy/overcast weatherwise here.. I had a root canal this morning and I’m feeling ok with that. But the best part of today is that it is our first wedding anniversary. We were married at 11:10 a.m. 9-8-07:-) It is great to be married to the love of your life even if it took 55 years to happen!

I too am wondering what the plan is for filling the Cascade wall. It looks like you planned before you started, or you’re just having random fun!
I too want to see the ‘finished’ photo!

This week is full of insane (one of those weeks when you think it can’t get any busier and then BAM, you are proven wrong).
That makes today a perfect day to go home after work, take a long drink from something mildly alcoholic, and to knit on something even more mindless than socks!

In Dayton Ohio we got a lot of wind damage. Neighbors on both sides of us had roof damage. A lot of down trees and power outages.
