Manage Your To Do’s?

Do you ever feel like you have too much to do and not enough time? (Silly question. I’m sure most of us feel that way. Especially at this time of year.) Here’s a fun little app that might help. I put a link on my toolbar so that I can click it and check it out each day. I think the best part is crossing things off the list, but I may just be weird like that. Watch the 1 minute video to see how it works, then off you go. I like that I now have ONE To Do (TeuxDeux) list to work off of each day, instead of the little post-it notes that I continue to write for myself. Think of the money I’ll save in post-its. They may just go out of business.

DSC03279I finished up another pair of fingerless mitts last week. I had Elf Donna model them (by giving Loopy a big hug) and then I wrapped them up and gave them to a good friend. She said that just that morning, she had seen them talking about fingerless mitts on Good Morning America, saying that it was “the” gift to give and get this year. (We are so WITH it, aren’t we?)

We got so many boxes in today that we could’ve built a fort. You know, if we were so inclined. Nothing too exciting. Just boxes of boxes from the post office. About 2000 of them today. But we DO have boxes of yarn on the way, too. Madelinetosh called today to say they were about to “inundate us with boxes”. Ditto with the String Theory gals and Hand Maiden, who has Mini Maiden enroute to us. So hopefully the next box delivery from the post office will bring fun yarn, and not just boxes of boxes. That was a rather disappointing (although necessary) delivery.

Can you believe that Christmas is next week? How did that happen? (I still have one knitted gift to finish up. More on that next week.) Just as an FYI, our in-person shopping hours will be different during the weeks of Christmas and New Years. We’ll be open WEDNESDAYS, 12/23 and 12/30, from 10 am – 1 pm. Closed Thursdays and Fridays, 12/24, 12/25, 12/31 and 1/1. ¬†We’ll be here answering phones and packing and shipping orders M/T/W of next week (Christmas Week) and M/T/W of the following week (New Years Week). Back to our regularly scheduled shopping and working hours the first full week in January.

  1. Good to hear that fingerless mitts are in fashion – I must be a fashionable relative! I love how fast they are to make…now I’m embarking on full gloves and socks with toes, just because I’m empowered by the fingerless mitts.

Hooray for being inundated soon with boxes from Madelinetosh and String Theory and Hand Maiden!!!

I just have one quilted sweatshirt to finish and then it’s time to knit for FUN until the New Year begins. Where did I put my nearly-finished Girasole blanket, anyway?

  2. Love the red mitts! I like how fast that particular pattern knits up. Think I’ll wander over to TLE shop and pick up a couple skeins of DIC Classy to hopefully quickly knit up a few more pair for Christmas giving. Fortunately, these won’t have to be gifted until after Christmas – giving me just a wee bit more time to finish!

  3. Yeah for boxes, and boxes of boxes! I love it when you all are inundated. That means we benefit! Updates, sneak ups, I love them all. Happy Holidays to the Elves and you, Sheri, and your wonderful family. DH, The Deputy, Milo and I send our best wishes for a happy holiday season.

  4. I’m so glad y’all are taking off some extra bit of time over Christmas and new years. TLE staff is some of the hardest working people in the country. No wonder they named all the helpers elves. You do Santa’s work all year long. He-he.

Sheri, love the red mitts. Know the recipient is going to be very happy.

    Merry Christmas to all.

  5. The red fingerless mitts are gorgeous. I know your friend will treasure them. I knitted up the mitts- wow how quick they are! Watched the teux deux video- how great is that? Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, your family and the great Loopy elves. Enjoy your days off!

  6. Teux Deux list is like the Baton Rouge bumper sticker that reads GEAUX TIGERS!

Here, a common name is Breaux, pronounced Bro (long o).

Good luck to all who are trying to finish Christmas knitting.

  7. Can’t wait for Madelistosh Worsted to arrive. Need to make an throw for my new niece that my brother and sister-in-law are adopting from China. Hopefully I’ll be able to get this acomplished before they leave to pick her up.

  8. Love the red mitts! And I guess I must be fashion forward, since I gave everyone fingerless mitts last year :) Btw, thanks for pointing me to Teux Deux! My new job requires me to keep up with more things and more people than I’m used to, and I’ve been looking for a to-do list app that was free AND easy!

  9. I love the teuxdeux app. I will definitely be using it in the future. I’m a to-do-list, deadline-oriented kind of gal. We’re giving plenty of fingerless mitts here. Hopefully nobody will ask me “what’s the point?” this year. (My nephew got rid of that girlfriend.) Of course, I have a good answer this year. You don’t have to take off your gloves to text message.

  10. Loving the TeuxDeux app and that they are developing something for the iphone. This is something I have been looking for – easy and simple. Just a list.

  11. What… not done with the scarf yet????? What have you been doing with your time? :-) I bet it is turning out great, tho and that the recipient will be THRILLED!!! (and WARM!!) So glad fingerless mitts are in as they seem to keep popping on and off my needles.

  12. I can’t believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I feel like I’ve been hit over the head with a mallet and haven’t gotten nearly enough stuff done! And I decided to make food gifts rather than knitting gifts, because they take less time and unfortunately with my inlaws be more appreciated.
