My dad served 20 years in the army, as did the whole family. It was the only life I knew until college, since he retired when I graduated from high school. I lived in Hawaii, South Korea, PA, Virginia, Okiawa, to name a few. We were fortunate Daddy didn't serve in Viet Nam long - severe kindey stones caused him to be sent back to Walter Reed and then back home. Kidney stones run in his side of the family and we all get attacks. I've never heard anyone complain though, even my cousins, we all just thank the Lord for his blessing and for my dad.

Thanks for the great quotes and for remembering all who serve.

You Have some of the most wonderful elves helping to get our knitting goodies out when we order. I will truly miss the wonderful elves when you move the Loopy Ewe. They will always be your first elves that helped you in the beginning of this yarn shop adventure. I hope you have told them how special they are.
I come from a long line of veterans, Korean War, Vietnam War and all the Gulf Wars. There is no one who detests war more than a Soldier. They pray for peace everyday. and it is very true no soldier comes home without the wounds and scares of war.

Thanks for the post. My dad is a WW2 vet and I always call and thank him on Veteran's Day. Our son also just got out of the navy after 9 years, so we're right with you on being appreciative of those who serve!
