Sheri! Thank you for sharing the Palindrome pattern- I did finally get around to printing it for my stash collection … I’m usually a little leary of knitting scarves for myself, but I really like the look of this one! Keep ya posted – at the moment, I’m in the middle of 1 baby pillow cover (crochet), 1 prayer shawl (knit), 1 baby blanket (knit), and 1 attempt at a shoulder bag / slouchy pouch carry all (knit with embroidered base) – so the scarf may have to wait til like April or something… sigh.

I’m so glad you liked the pattern Sheri and it does knit up quickly doesn’t it? I love scarves in Colorado – it’s so cold it’s a perfect accessory.

I started a Palindrome, but used too many colors and am now faced with weaving all those ends if I do complete it. Next time I’ll just use one color! On the other hand, this winter I knited the Soltice Scarf from Interweave Knits, and discovered I can stick with a beautiful long (six feet!) scarf in only one color and have it turn out beautifully! I have at least two more planned for that pattern …. hmmmmm, wonder how it would look in cashmere ……..

Your Palindrome is lovely!

I am another who has not has much scarf success; too flighty & easily distracted, I guess. Sweaters & socks hold my attention better. Most successful scarf (as in, the only one I have finished in eight years of knitting) is a So-Called Scarf in Malabrigo worsted. It took over two years but much of that was hibernation time… the other day I pulled it out and realized it really WAS long enough, bound it off & that was that.

I have higher hopes for a Drop Stitch Scarf with JulieSpins 435 just because I really can’t leave that yarn alone for very long. Started it nearly the minute that yarn arrived because I just had to DO something with it! And to be fair, it is more portable than Malabrigo.

Haven’t knitted Palindrome yet but it is in my queue. I have done multiples of Martina Behm’s patterns like 22.5 degrees which while called small shawls are terrific scarves. Your Palindrome is very nice, Sheri. Janine

As a project for myself this winter I have been knitting samples of the many scarf patterns
that I have collected. Last week when I saw the Palindrome pattern I had to knit it into a sample. It is easy, quick and fun to knit — and it is squishy! Now I just have to decide what
yarn to use to knit a full size scarf, when I have time!

I made a Palindrone and gave it away. Have always planned to make another one for the Red Scarf project. Maybe this will be the year.

I’ve made the palindrome in red for the Red Scarf Project that sends care packages including red scarves to college students who have aged out of the foster care program but have gone on to college or trade school! I’ll do another one when it comes summer!
