I just baked the congo bars (for the first time ever) this afternoon and holy cow, they’re good! I didn’t realized I had to let them TOTALLY cool before slicing and eating, so they don’t look as pretty as yours.

I started cleaning yesterday so that I can decorate. Of course, since there’s so much cleaning required, I ran errands and made my door wreath. More cleaning will happen on and off today, but I can’t decorate until it’s clean. Mama always did the decorating, so it’ll be interesting. No shortage of stuff to use, just not sure yet what I’ll do with it.

Starting decorations tonight so I can be ready for my knitting group brunch next Sunday. I really like the Loopy Solids. Im making a Babette Blanket for my nephew using several of the colors.

My dd who had gall bladder surgery this week would love those congo bars. I’ll have to make them for her when she can eat solids again. Poor thing. Still looking for fling info. I love the LEsolids. I made my Derecho with 3 colors from the line.

My house is as decorated as it’s going to be. We sell fresh decorated wreaths where I work and moi has to decorate all of them to include hand making all the wire edge bows – so I have my fill of greens,decorations, and pine sap on my hands and clothes (sorry to be the grinch). The Congo Bars are on my list of to bake goodies. I do like to drive around with family and look at the house lights – lots of fun with my grandson (21 months old and he LOVES the lights). This Sunday is the tree lighting ceremony and carriage ride in front of the township bldg and we’re going to that. Hot chocolate and maybe Congo bars after that Will address my cards this weekend – I still love sending them as my Mom always did

I think I’m going to try the Congo bars tomorrow. They sound amazing. I’ve done as much decorating as I’m going to. I have two new kittens, one is 2 months old and one is 4 months old so I have to really watch what I put out. No tree or fancy decorations this year. That’s fine…since my stroke in September it’s hard to things up from the basement and the shed. What I’ve put up looks good though. I’m pleased.

Your Congo bars sound great–I’m going to try them tomorrow. Today I made Truffles rolled in cocoa powder–about 100 of them. I’m going to freeze some for Christmas gifts this year as I’m still looking for work… Anyone know of a good job available?

The scarf made in the Loopy Ewe Solid Series is great- I love all of the colors!
