Blue Sky Alpacas Bulky – a new line for us. This soft yarn is lightly spun with a blend of 50% alpaca and 50% wool. It is SO warm! We have a trunk show with garments made from this yarn on display in the shop this month, so pop by if you’re local. (We’ll take pictures and share those on the blog, soon!) We also added in some Blue Sky Bulky patterns. Shown here in Boysenberry, Grey Wolf and Atlantis.

Cascade Fixation - new multi colors. This DK weight is fun to knit with because it has a little give to it. It’s 98.3% Cotton and 2% Elastic, which makes it a nice yarn for people who are allergic to wool. Even though there are just 100 yards in a ball, the “give” in the yarn allows it to be knit further than that. I made a woman’s size 11 sock from one ball (see it here – the third one) so plan accordingly! Shown here in Patriot, Sea and Spring Bouquet Effects.

Riley Blake Fabric – Honeycomb Dots in teals, pinks, limes, reds, oranges, and neutrals. These make great blenders for quilts, fun colors for garments, and pretty linings for coordinating fabrics. 15 different fabrics, a sampling shown below.

Riley Blake Fabric – Giraffe Crossing in oranges, teals, browns, reds and neutrals. (Are these not adorable?) 15 different fabrics, a sampling shown below.

We’re adding more shelving units to The Loopy Ewe Fabric Shop next week. We’ve filled up what we have! Fabric is interesting in that the fabric companies are coming out with new prints all the time. That’s good news! The bad news is that the runs are limited and when the fabric is sold out, it doesn’t usually come back. (The exception to this – the basics that each company has. Solids, semi-solids, washes, weaves – usually the fabrics that are great blender basics.) The lesson here is that if you see a fabric that you love, get it while you can. Chances are good that we won’t be able to get it back. (Unlike many yarn colors, where we can re-order when we need them.) A good way to pick up fabric that you love but aren’t sure what you want to use it for yet? Loopy Short Stacks. We put together 8 coordinating Fat Quarters from the line and you currently have 50 different sets to choose from (a sampling shown below). It’s a great way to start building a fabric stash.

Have fun checking out the new things and we’ll be busy pulling and packing your orders the rest of the day!

  1. Good reminder. I guess I’ll get that short stack I’ve had my eye on after all. ;-) I do need to settle on what my craftroom colors are going to be, don’t I?
