Shalimar, Rhichard Devrieze, Moda and More!

We have plenty of new things up for you in today’s Thusday Update. Going up soon, you’ll find:

Shalimar Breathless – You know this is one of my favorite yarns, right? The 75% Superwash Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk base is luscious. Soft to knit, soft to wear, and the semi-solid colors are beautiful. I used it for a Color Affection shawl, a Derecho, and for my Lila Blue Cowl. Shown here in Bing, Cobalt Skies, and Limerick.

Shalimar Missy Bulky – This comes in a 120 yard skein and is 100% Superwash Merino. One of the nice things about Bulky weight is that it’s so quick to knit up! Need some pattern suggestions? Try the Alpine Lake cowl, Cherry Garcia cowl, Shalom Cardigan, Man Hat, or the Nola Cloche. Shown here in Tequila Sunrise, Byzantium, and Glacier.

The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze Peppino – Rhichard was a long-time dyer with Koigu before he branched out and started his own beautiful hand-dyed line. This is a perfect yarn for the Loopy’s Challenge for Spring! 225 yards per skein and 100% Merino Wool. But good luck picking just one color. :-) Check yesterday’s blog post for a bunch of fun pattern ideas for these multi-colored skeins, and details on the Challenge. Shown here in Treasure Trove, Joey, and Utterly.

Lavishea – re-stocked in all of the scents! You keep one of these in each knitting bag, right?

Knitter’s Pride Needles – re-stocked (Along with the Knitter’s Pride Pattern holders in large and small sizes.)

Schacht 15″ Cricket Looms – This is a great size for scarves, table runners, towels and placemats. You can also weave sections and put them together for blankets. (Unfortunately we’re only able to ship the 15″ looms within the U.S., but we can ship those cute Zoom Looms anywhere!)

Schacht Hi-Low Drop Spindles – Ready to try spinning without the investment of a big wheel? Many people start with spindles (and many people stay with spindles!). All you need is one of these and some pretty roving.

Mary Flanagan Woolens – the 4 x 5 bundles sold out so quickly the last time we had them in, that we immediately ordered more! Check today’s blog to see the beautiful framed piece that Elf Jenny made. She combined some small bundles and some bigger bundles. Shown here in Fire Brick, Spring Green and Old Denim.

Valdani Designer Collection Threads – these make me want to take up embroidery and crazy quilting. Each set looks like a selection of gourmet candy to me! With names like Artist’s Palette, Folk Art Fusion, Mystic Twilight, Ocean Waves, and Purple Splash, how can you resist? We have 13 different collections for you, some limited edition. Shown here in Snowman Gatherings, Woodland Babies, and Whistlepig’s Calendar.

Be sure to check out yesterday’s blog post, which details Loopy’s Challenge for Spring. We’re knitting with pretty colors to combat the long winter full of snow, ice and gray we’ve all endured this year.

  1. The Valdani threads are so tempting, but I would get the box and remember I don’t like embroidery or cross stitch and they’d sit in my stash forever while I tried to figure out how to use them.

  2. Breathless is the most lovely. I enjoyed our chat this morning! And my Breathless! Well, what more can I say about that??

For those of you wondering how you might use Breathless for the Challenge, take a look at the color Merlin’s Beard. Sheri herself okay’ed it for me! Truly beautiful.

  3. I was in the store today and saw Elf Jenny’s framed piece and it is quite breathtaking! She is quite talented and quite the enabler, because she is inspiring me to hurry up and get my studio set up so I can get back into sewing and quilting. A couple of short stacks fell in my bag before I left the store too…
