Designed by Johanne Landin, these hip mittens read "Love" and "Peace" (one word one each hand).

They knit up on a set of 5 DPN needles, size US 0-1.5 (2-2.5mm) or size to obtain gauge.

Yarn needed: 2 skeins, approx. 200 yds. each of fingering weight, in two colors (one in the background solid, and one a variegated.)

Gauge: 9 st and 11 rows to 1" (Adjust your needle size to get the correct gauge, and to make changes in mitten size.)

Size: 7.5" around and 8" from the start of the pattern chart to the top (not counting the cuff). Switch to bigger needles if you want larger mittens.
