This pattern is such a "Hoot!" Knit and felt a whimsical owl for the bird enthusiast. The pattern includes instructions for two owl designs: the Round-Dead and the Tufted-Ear. Add a strand of fine mohair or alpaca, along with a worsted weight yarn, in a contrasting color to create a fuzzy, variegated owl.

You can even personalize the owl even more by felting a design, initial or year on the owl's tummy.

The pattern uses worsted weight yarn and introduces simple needle felting techniques. When choosing yarn, do not use machine-washable yarns, as they do not felt.
