Designed by Kate Gagnon Osborn, this slouchy hat is knit in a Fair Isle pattern that replicates a woven plaid. The folded ribbed brim provides both structure and warmth and the pom pom finishes the overall look.

Requirements:

Yarn: The Fibre Company Road to China Light, 159 yds/50gms per skein. 1 skein Main Color and 1 skein Contrasting Color.

Gauge: 28 sts and 28 rounds = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch on 3.25 mm needles after blocking.

Needles: 1 - 16" 2.5 mm (US 1) circular needle and 1 - 16" 3.25 mm (US 3) circular needle and DPNs.

Notions: Darning needle and stitch marker.

Size: 18" brim circumference, 22" circumference at widest point, 9.5" height.

Skills Necessary: Knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, 2 color Fair Isle from charts.
