Here's a sailorly sock with a nautical knotted cable and plaited cord rib.
275 yds. of DK weight yarn. 3.5/US 4 or size required to obtain gauge of 6 1/2 sts/inch over stockinette, plus one size smaller. You will also need a cable needle.
