Designed by Johanne Landin, these beautiful mittens have nice, long cuffs to keep you extra warm. If you prefer a shorter cuff you can skip knitting the ribbing.
Coordinates with the Born to Knit Karin Kurbits Hat pattern.
These knit up on size 2 needles with your favorite fingering weight yarn. You will need one 50 gram skein for the background color (try Louet Fingering or Alchemy solids) plus one 50 gram skein for the pattern (such as Noro Kureyon sock or Schoppel Wolle), or some of our beautiful indie-dyed yarns.
Yarn needed: Approx. 200 yds. of fingering weight in each of two colors (one in the background solid, and one a variegated.)
Gauge: 10 st and 11 rows to 1" (Adjust your needle size to get the correct gauge, and to make changes in mitten size.)
Size: 7.5" around and 8" from the start of the pattern chart to the top. Switch to bigger needles if you want larger mittens.
