It’s Monday Update time again! (We missed sharing new things with you last week, although it’s always nice to have a holiday Monday.) Just up, we added in:
Fable Fibers - a new indie dyer to us! Lelah dyes this yarn up in North Carolina, and we’ve added in three different bases: Novel, Story, and Biography. I love Lelah’s unique dyeing style. (Shown here in Amelie in the Novel base.)
- Biography is a DK weight with 231 yards in the skein. It would be wonderful for sweaters, scarves, hats, mittens and gloves.
- Novel is a fingering weight with a base of 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon. The other nice thing about Novel is that it’s a wopping 600 yards per skein! That makes this idea for shawls, extra long socks, or hat/mitten/cowl sets.
- Story is a fingering weight with a base of 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon with 435 yards in a skein (the more normal size of fingering weight skeins.) Great for regular socks, smaller shawls, cowls and scarves.
Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere- always one of our favorite bases, this is a fingering weight with 70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere and 10% nylon. It feels good against your skin, so try it for scarves and cowls, hats and mittens, socks and shoulder wraps. (Shown here in Chilli, a great fall color. Don’t you need a pair of fall socks or a pretty fall one-skein shawl? Or Cowl? You could make one of my favorite cowls – Summer Wind. Although in this colorway, we’d have to call it Fall Wind.)
Prism Delicato - this laceweight yarn is 100% Tencel, although it feels so soft that you might think it’s silk. With 630 yards in the skein, it’s great for shawls and lightweight scarves. I just finished my Nuvem over the weekend and this would be an awesome yarn in a Nuvem. Having wrapped that around my neck, I’m now completely sold on laceweight scarves. They are so warm, but so lightweight. Yes, I started another Nuvem when the first one was soaking in the sink, getting ready to block. (Shown here in Conifer.)
Shalimar Breathless - a new batch of awesome colors in this fingering weight base comprised of merino (75%), cashmere (15%), and silk (10%). I used multi-color combinations of this yarn in one of my Color Affection shawls, and one of my Derechoshawls. I love working with it. (Shown here in Bluecrop.)
ChiaoGoo Interchangeables - extra cables and tips are in stock.
Have fun shopping, and we’ll get your Boxes of Fun out right away. We know you’re anxious to get them!
