In this workshop you will learn techniques needed to knit a lace shawl sideways, knitting the edging on as you go, so that the shawl is knit in one piece from start to finish. This class is for knitters who have some experience with knitting basic lace stitches and can do yarn overs and single and double increases. Instruction and techniques for knitting the shawl will be covered and students will complete a mini shawlette in class. Blocking techniques will also be discussed. Handouts will also include a pattern for a full-size shawl template using these techniques that students may knit at home.
Materials: Smooth, light colored, sport or DK weight yarn (100-200 yards), and needles in a U.S. 4 or 5 for sport yarn or U.S. 7 or 8 for DK weight yarn.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, you may do so up to one week prior to the class for a full refund. No refunds will be issued for missed classes.
