About Us

My Grandmother taught me to knit when I was about 8 years old. I was not a natural.  In fact, as a child I never finished a single project that I can remember. At that age, the point was never the finished product, but the chance to spend quality time with my Grandma and the process of passing on an age-old skill that carried with it a long tradition of craft, artistry and love. Knitting was one of many creative loves that my Grandma passed on to me. Collectively these make up a big part of the memories I have of times shared with her.

I didn’t knit for years between the ages of about 15 and 25, but it was waiting for me when I was ready to return. It got me through graduate school, a postdoctoral fellowship, and several jobs that were on the ‘right’ path but never seemed to fit quite right. I was lucky enough to start working part-time at The Loopy Ewe as a ‘Loopy Elf” in about 2017. It’s been so great to be part of this community!

When Sheri announced her retirement from the yarn business, I had only had vague dreams of being a yarn store owner - but suddenly it seemed like a real possibility. Bob (my husband) and I discussed and deliberated and eventually decided that this was a great opportunity to move into something I really love. So, here we are!

I am honored and proud to be continuing the business that Sheri and Paul began back in a little corner of their St. Louis basement in 2006. Like them, my family will be a big part of the action. Like them, we will be committed to top notch customer service and quality products.

Loveland is a lovely place to be, and we’d love to be part of your time here if you are lucky enough to live here or are just visiting!  We are also happy to provide for you online - though we always hope to be able to meet our yarn community in person!
